    Mostly dust and dirt.
If Toyota recommends oil changes at 10,000 miles then why does my trucks computer tell me I need maintenance every 5000 miles?

It's a tire rotation/inspection every 5k, you can skip it and just stick 10k services.

Personally I stick to 5k oil changes even with the 0w20 factory synthetic.

Oil change interval is every 10k miles. Tires rotated every 5k.

Yes, the tacoma 3.5 is designed for 10k oil changes with 0w20 synthetic.

The old days of conventional 5w30 or 5w20 meant shorter intervals.

Only severe climate or use I would suggest 5k.

Thank you sir, i don't need the tires rotated that often....they are standing tall! I'll have another set of tires/wheels before they do the first oil change. I was very concerned about the oil, i do about 8k on my 2.7 2wd with almost 300k miles with mobil 1 H/M Full Synthetic (like that actually exists in the states.... and that seems to be the perfect still clean/still lubby indicator.

I was reading the new engines use less of an expansion tension on the oil ring and that will possibly cause Oil burning. Even though my new to me taco has 70k on it I’m going with 5k and claiming extreme weather. It does get cold in the northeast and short runs to the store stress the . Thoughts?

Nope. DI HP fuel pump and DI injector cleaning at idle cause that sound. It seems that some Tacos are louder than others.
