I bet you’ll have to trim the thin plastic in the wheel well and take off the mud flaps at the very least. Did you wrap your truck or repaint it?

Hey all. Strong possibility I’m moving from NC to Chicago. I am wondering where you all go overlanding? Also rust prevention: I've been reading fluid film and wool wax work. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this and what you all think?

I’ve been doing fluid film since I’ve owned my truck. 5-6 cans once a year in late oct / nov

I just did the reverse of that move and you will be in for an offroading/overlanding culture shock.

The badlands in Indiana is the closest place to wheel, there's the trans wisconsin adventure trail as well. That's more gravel road in the middle of nowhere type stuff, I always ment to do it never did. Besides that, get ready to drive 5+ hours to get into anything interesting nature wise.

The plus side is the food in the Chicago area is 1000x's better than NC.

I'll send ya a care package. Honestly, that's really the only concern (besides family) that I have about moving away..pros out weigh the cons though. Oh well. Bon voyage.

Yea, it will only be a couple years. Young in my careers and i dont have plans on being there long term... But I'm nervous for my truck. Got it last year and I love it, is a 2nd gen with a stock superchanger and i really really dont want it to get rusted out due to the salt. @JuanitoBunito thanks for the pics!!

It's weird up there, from my understanding a lot of those trails are ATV only.

The UP of michigan has some cool places to ride and see.
