My (well.... We, since we build together) usually picks which one he likes the most, looks wise, and we build that and then put it on display. So we just build the one.

It’s nice to see the stores have a lot of the stuff the website is sold out of. I only wish there was a store closer to me to go to. Enjoy the builds!

I feel like this thing is getting out of hand. Currently half an inch shy of 4 feet long.

Compared to the original ideas submittal for that you wouldn'teven know they were the same thing. The original was much cooler. They butchered design.

Not really sure I'd say it was butchered. It's certainly a change, but the core points still seem to be there. Approval through the program is just for that - the idea. Nothing says they're required to produce the design as submitted. It's interesting seeing the comments across the internet on the changes.

Personally, I like the changes they've made. The original design definitely looks like a MOC and not so much a set I'd enjoy building, and don't want to think what that design would have retailed for as a set. I'm also not the biggest fan of the hyper-textured techniques that are so prevalent among castle builders; The final set we're getting looks clean and more playable while still maintaining the key points of the original submission.

That said, I can certainly see the arguments against the final design as well. Last's year's Barracuda Bay even more radically changed from the original concept than the Blacksmith. Just interesting watching people, I guess.

    Same, definitely

Current leaks also indicate a ~$100 Creator 3-in-1 castle, similar to last year with the 3-in-1 pirate ship after the Barracuda release. Needless to say, I'm pretty hyped.

I like both versions... the original would be $300 from LEGO due to size and piece count I bet. Glad they scales it down to match much of the castle era sets and the price point means they will sell a lot more. And there is always Bricklink if you want to increase its footprint.

Here’s an endlessly modified Kessel Run Millennium Falcon and a stand that either works as a landing platform or a canted display stand.

after the mini fig carnage there i started looking for a better way to display my figs without breaking the bank. i looked at shot glass display cases but they were A-too large for the section of wall I was planning on using and B-the dividers would have limited the number of figs to a point i would have needed mulitple cases
then i found these at Michaels - they're labeled as coin display cases but they're almost a perfect fit for mini figs - and it has a door so no more dusting! its pretty snug for most of the figs - the standard base plates just bump the glass door but dont prevent it from latching shut (magnetic) and so far only firecracker guy and crayon girl are too tall (shelves are about 2-1/2" apart). still getting everyone moved in but so far i've got 6 figs per shelf and 6 shelves
    https://www.michaels.com/studio-decor-coin-display-case/10224309.html
just wanted to share in case anyone else os looking for a way to display figs and keep the dust off.
