I like the comp cart they have, although out of stock. This might be a viable option to keep the misses happy that I’m not spending $2500+ on a ceramic or Yoder smoker.

 

Comp cart looks VERY nice, I don't plan on moving mine around much but if that changed I would def get it.

 

did you buy direct from them or from somewhere local?

 

They only sell DTC.

 

beautiful...may end up with that 700 on a comp cart and the side box...gotta give them a call and see if they can cut the price down some if i'm buying the comp cart...

 

I almost went with the 700 but just more money, and this 590 will do everything I need it to. Doesn't have the side box but that's only for cold smoking and I can get a smoke tube if I need to do that.

 

All my shit from PSA has shipped super quick. Ordered a complete .556 upper kit Sunday, got it Wednesday

Ordered an upper from another company (Midway), and was missing the assembly kit. Ordered assembly kit from PSA, and was missing one of the bags in the kit. Currently waiting to speak to customer service about them either shipping me the bag, or returning & refunding the kit.

 

Does the fan run when you power up the controller, but without setting a temp? I know Yoder does, and makes cold smoking super easy with a smoke tube since the fan runs without a fire burning.

 

I might give them a call this morning, per their shipping info it should take 3-5 business days for non-serialized parts so today is day 6. Not a huge rush, but want to make sure it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

 

PSA and quick shipping should not be in the same sentence...EVERYTHING I have ever bought from them took weeks to ship.

 

I'm not really sure, @ajohnson has way more experience with it. I know it has a LO smoke setting that usually only runs around 160F but if you want to smoke something like cheese that's still too hot. Yoder are super nice but if you've really got money burning a hole in your pocket check out Pitts & Spitts.

 

Hmm, I ordered a complete .300 pistol a few weeks ago and it was just a couple days to get to Blackstone. That's why I am surprised my small parts are taking so long.

 

Ordered the Lower Build kit on 1/14, and it shipped same day. Ordered a complete upper kit 1/17, arrived 1/20. NEVER had a shipping issue, and I get there's a human element sometimes. I'm good if they send me the missing pieces, and I'll sell the kit to a buddy.

 

Maybe it depends what store it comes from . I ordered a free float hand guard and gas block at the same time from PSA, the gas block shipped the next day from one location but the hand guard took over a week to ship from a different location.

 

No, it only powers up with a set temp. Lo setting is 180F.

 

Testing LO now. @SearArtist its cycling the fan on and off to keep 180 as Andy said.

temp is 15 degrees low but this thing has a calibration feature too which is nice.

The fan should stay constant once it figures out the feed rate it needs. If the fan doesn't settle and the temp keeps climbing, turn the feed rate down a bit.
