Id say 8-10hrs is comfortable for one person

 

I used to make the 800 mile one-way trip multiple times per year in college from school to my parent's house. It was about a 10-11 drive. After I started working full-time, I only made the trip at Christmas.

 

I hate drinking in a car ride! Always gotta pee!!!! :-/

 

Lol wifey always tells me... did ya go to the potty before we leave.... she knows I like to test out all the potty’s that we stop at ..... coffee and water always does me in

 

No worries there.

Maxing out at 10 was my plan but I'll play it by ear.

 

There is something to be said for being on your on schedule and not at the mercy of an airline .

We all know about electrical problems on airplanes and down sizing of rental cars and just airports in general .

 

For some reason that’s just not right.

 

I did not do well with wood unless it was firewood it just did not like me.

 

My Trail Blazer lives in a spot the power cord reaches just fine .

It was a lifesaver during Hurricane Sandy`s aftermath 9 days without electric .

 

The times I have driven long distance with someone else I was ready to kill them or leave them someplace .

 

I did a turn and burn to Phoenix about 4 years ago, that was a hoot. 1690 miles in 25 hours

 

somehow I feared being labeled a homophobe if I said something.

I've done quite a few 12 hour stints of driving by my lonesome, or in my own vehicle while convoying with others. Maine to Florida in two and a half days with a 40 foot horse trailer and an f-350. Did that one in a convoy with four other trucks and trailers.

 

I've twice driven to Munds Park in AZ about 1,200 miles or 18 hours. On the way home I like to stop in Guymon Oklahoma 11.5 hours from Phoenix then the next day to home 8 hours. Both times were trips to Phoenix and I most likely would have driven the entire distance except Uncle in Munds Park.
