What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

I bought my 18 SR from Penske fleet. He sold two more tacoma to my partner from a referral. He’s been our go to toyota guy for a long time. So he told me when I first came to him for 2021.

bob smith service advisor takes care of my fj and tacoma. When I stopped by to ask about tailgate lock, he told me they just did it on the green one, and said that is what new owner paid.

corona manger confirmed that’s what they got on last 3 sales. Their lackadaisical interest in selling for over $1000 over msrp to my neighbor, confirmed $2495 over msrp is their magic number

 

Wow... I knew from reading on here that it happens but I had no idea that it was so prevalent.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but I went base AF. I picked up an i4 RWD SR Access Cab earlier this week.

2018 SR, no floor liners, no bed light, no bed mat, no steps, no inserts. Paid $22,500. Even gardeners and pool guys look down on it! But its been amazing 40,900 miles of brutal punishment it has taken! SR utility!!! LVOE it

Been a long process, shopped within a 500mi radius of OKC, OK.
This was by far the best deal I was able to get (based on %off MSRP and minimizing options I don't want...looking at you predator tubes)

Inventory is super tight, I basically employed a strategy posted by someone else on here, and began pitting dealers against each other. Those that wanted to play ball did, others did not. Eventually got 2 to duke it out and it came down to getting exactly what I wanted on the Tacoma and no more, as well as the upper end of private market value on my trade.

Now I just have to wait a few weeks for the fun to begin. Good luck everyone!

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to share my experience because I think people need to revise expectations some. This is not my first rodeo haggling/negotiating and feel pretty confident this was one of the best deals I could find.

When I began this journey about a month ago I for sure thought I would get 10+% off, and did with a SR5 4x2...but the TRD OR is a whole other beast. They fly off dealer lots and they know it, it is a seller's market so I just stress patience and perseverance to others.

 

I love it. The only thing I really wish that I had was keyless entry, and I am already scouting out options to add that in. I've wanted this truck since I was a teenager, so I was very happy to just do it already. SR basic bros unite!

 

Correct , trim level has a lot to do with market demand no doubt

no keyless entry for me!
Only thing annoys me is pass door has no key hole

so if I come to out something in pass door
I have to go to driver door unlock with key and then hit unlock button

something Non SR people will never understand

I had a 1997 Mazda B2300 (basically a rebranded Ford Ranger) that was bare bones like this. I had to sell it in 2004 as the wife got preggers and the two seater wasn't going to cut it. Really enjoyed that truck. Does anyone even make something that basic anymore? I mean it wasn't even an access cab!

 

Same here. Had 2 in a row like this. But when she got pregnant had to get the backseat. I told her I could just get a tonneau cover that way they wouldn’t fall out but, I don’t know, that idea I didn’t go over too well.

 

Just found you guys recently when I started my search for a Tacoma. Bought mine last night. I think I did alright. I was looking for Voodoo Blue but could not find any in Louisiana. Considered Cement and Army Green but none of the dealers in the BR/NOLA area would get anywhere near TX market prices so I drove to Houston. I possibly could have squeezed a little more out of the deal, but I feel it was fair and didn't want to waste too much time and miss out on this truck. They also did decent on my trade. Overall, it was a good experience.
