I've been called a liar this week after telling this story to a couple of buddies. But it is 100% real. You probably won't believe it either, but here goes.

I was in the Kitchen Wednesday evening cooking Dinner. (Yes I cook). Our house has a great room layout. Livingroom, Kitchen, Formal Dinning and Breakfast area are all one large room. More or less. My wife was in the Living room watching the days events on the evening news. When all of a sudden she said something that froze me in my tracks! I stopped stunned! When I was able to speak, I said, what did you just say?
She said and I kid you not. Quote " I think it might be a good idea for you to go buy some more guns". I said that's what I thought you said. I said are you serious. She said I'm as serious as a heart attack. I said are you sure. She said yes. I said OK and went back to cooking.

Now there's gotta be more to this story. Why would a woman tell her man to go buy more guns?
That's right up there with Honey you need a new boat. Or we need to have a 3some with that hot Blonde you're always talking about.
    • She having or had an affair and now feels guilty?
    • She wants to go make a large purchase? Or already did?
    • Or just concerned about the state of the Republic?
Being she was watching the news I'm going to chalk it up to the last one. :D
I guess now I would have a question. I was heavily into guns 30 years ago. But I'm a little outa touch now. I currently don't hunt so these would be for target practice, plinking and home defense. I have an AR "furnished of course". SW M&P Shield (CC) and a Stainless P89.
What else might be fun or come in handy? Money is not an issue, but it is. If you know what I mean.
    I was thinking of possibly.
    A 1911. Suggestions?
    An AR22?
Possibly let the wife pick herself out a good handgun? (No Pink either)
Had a Desert Eagle 44 mag years ago. Really don't think I need another one.
Had also thought of a good Tactical shotgun but I think I'll limit it to 3 guns.
    Thoughts?

Many folks have the same idea. Ammo availability is a problem.

Buy what you can find, if you can find it. Good luck finding anything to make it go boom though.

this. Finding guns isn't really the problem . Ammo is almost non-existent.

Actually, one caliber and rifle type seems to still be somewhat available. AKs. 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 ammo only have about a 50% mark-up

Any NATO round firearms you can find right now. If SHTF you could possibly scavenge ammo to feed it.

I don't think ammo will be much of a a problem. 9 mm I have for her if she chooses.
And I have an inside skewp (pun intended) on a supplier that can get me pretty much anything I want.
I haven't tested the supplier yet. But my buddies have been buying rounds aplenty!

Stopped by 2 stores this afternoon. Both had bricks of .22.
9mm and .45 in different count.
None was cheap. But it was available.

Plenty of 5.56 also. Again :spending:

We have people selling .380, 9mm, .40 random heads-stamp, random fmj, soft, or hollow mixed in ziplock baggies at 1$ a round.
    .308 at 1.65 a round fmj.

I have two little red friends by a man named Lee that keep me well supplied, and a completely paranoid conspiracy mind, ( well until everything I thought would happen years ago all happened at once ) that made me prepare over the last 20 years. Hopefully everything goes well and my grandkids can shoot my old ammo. If not well I guess it will be interesting for while huh?

Stopped by a local gun shop yesterday afternoon with the wife. They had several boxes of most calibers.
9mm and 5.56 were basically $1 a round. I have plenty so no tears there.
Went to look at the handguns. They had several and the wife noticed of one right away she liked. She asked to see it. She held it said this feel good I like it. She looked at several others but kept going back to that one.
She said I want this one and I couldn't argue with her. Glock 26 Gen 5. New with case and 3, 10 round magazines.
We bought it and brought it home. Loaded it up with some Federal HST's till we can get some range time.

Why would 10 round clips be strange in NC? Asking for a friend.

Oh shit, (not a pistol guy) I didn’t consider that 10 may be max capacity.
Like an ass, I assumed that “normal”would be 15 or 17, so I thought you were getting neutered mags.

I live in NY so *all* mags are a 10 limit.
    Haha, my bad.

congrats on your purchase and I’ll quietly see myself out. Haha.
