I saw that too but forgot to ask him.

I may have added it accidentally.

Is anyone who already got their ypipe and spec u headers running the OEM catback or the TRD catback? I really don’t want to get louder but most of all I don’t want it raspy. That to me is just cringe worthy and embarrassing... TIA!

Guys have gotten them fairly quiet by means of the dodge keg muffler and I believe a resonator

Care to elaborate? Looks like JFR already puts a cat and resonator behind the merge... so you suggest another resonator somewhere before the muffler? And what’s the dodge keg muffler?

He does that as a custom thing based on what people want. I have just his y-pipe. My setup is, DT shorties-high flow cats / JFR y-pipe / URD mark lll catback which I’ve since basically customized. I will be swapping in URD long tubes in the near future myself. I don’t mind loud. The guys hear that wanted it quieter found that the keg oem muffler off a Ram lowers the sound. If you do a search on this thread it’ll all pop up ......

Yes im running URD spec u headers, JFR ypipe into a TRD catback. I added an extra borla muffler and its quiet enough imo.

Maybe @loginfailed will chime in here. He has had both the keg muffler and TRD.
He just went back to stock catback because he doesn't want to hear exhaust at all.

Speaking of his old TRD exhaust. He was going to leave that with you for me, when I was going to have my Ypipe made. Do you still have it? I will be picking up his Y and wouldn't mind testing it out vs the keg.

The stock non-TRD exhaust is gonna be the quietest exhaust. That stock muffler is pretty big and does a good job keeping noise down. But, you’re sacrificing flow especially at higher RPM.

The TRD exhaust is slightly larger diameter and flows a little more, but it’s louder than stock.

I’ve never run it this way, but I think the best setup if you want the most power with the least noise is Spec-U > JFR > stock exhaust. (again, sacrificing higher RPM power due to the smaller stock exhaust)

If you don’t mind a little more volume, the best setup in my opinion is Spec-U > JFR > Resonator > Keg muffler.

I’ve had so many different exhaust configurations I can remember them all. NONE have ever been raspy.
