Truthfully, you probably have a failing fuel pump that is making you go fairly lean under accel which is happening intermittently. As I stated, however, you are going to need your buddy with the Autel scanner. Those are excellent and will get the job done.

I think thats what it might be. We went for a drive a few hours ago with the Autel hooked up. No pending codes or anything like that. Nothing that directly points towards a bad fuel pump but because it comes and goes it might be on its last leg.

Next time you're having the issue I would try to get the truck in the air asap and just free spin each wheel. Make sure there's nothing simple creating friction.

Thats the thing tho, it does it for days sometimes. Other times it won't do it for like a month. I feel like if something was bound up it would have broke by now. There are so many possibilities.

Look at the long term and short term fuel trim readings (LTFT/ STFT) for bank 1 and 2. If you see equally garbage numbers above +10% that would indicate you are lean and that would indicate excessive airflow in the engine. Start there and if it shows excessive percentages then you will know the fuel pump is a potential suspect then you can hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see what your pressures are.

Nominal pressures at all times should be at about 43 psi- ish at cranking and idle.
