Yeah.... a few times a year I do a big cook for work. For that cook I fed around 70 people. I cooked the pork at home and did around 90 pieces of chicken on site.

Yep... typically I do run a smoke tube on long cooks.

Since you are in the area. Check out this website. The store is in Salisbury and is owned by a friend of mine. You may find some things you like.

I will thanks. I’ve been meaning to get up there anyway, I think they are the closest place that sells Lumberjack pellets

edit: I’m wrong, they just sell Traeger pellets. Don’t want those, especially with their latest shenanigans haha

They were shitty to a dealer and pulled their license because they recommended some competition pellets over theirs. Bunch of drama, I’ll try to find the screen shot. Just happened a week ago. I won’t use their pellets because they use flavor oils or something and won’t really disclose what’s in there.

I see.... I’ll keep using them for now anyway. For my part, it’s important that I support my friend’s store and that’s what he sells.

Lumberjack Competition Blend. There is no other. Well I guess there is, but they are all I use now.

I’m planning to try those next. Using the the cooking pellets.com Hickory today for my first smoke but I’ll switch to those when I can get some. The Competition blend seems like a great mix.

Just curious... what company manufacturers their grills in America and sells them for 1/2 the cost of a Traeger? Not disputing you.... just wondering.

I tried the pellet thing for a few years. Including tubes & trays and most pellets out there. Not a fan of pellets :anonymous: and I really did try including owning a pit boss. Although pretty much burnt it up trying to use real wood and charcoal eventually LOL.

I found many pellets out there in the tubes would build up with oils and creosote. I do like the Lumberjack pellets best of all if I were a pellet pooper person. For me they excelled over the others.

Hat off to you for supporting your friend. Especially him being a small business in these days and times. Did my Twilight Tour from the Navy in Western North Carolina. MEPS was in Charlotte and I spent a lot of time driving too and from. And more after I retired from the Navy going to businesses down the Mountain doing Business Process Consulting as a consultant. Which was 26 years ago. Damn that hurt my head just thinking about it because I am not that old! In my mind...

Guy with 3X reading glasses says not a problem seeing font size in document image... :anonymous:

Second picture is just showing off!! Considering the snow and cold here LOL. I knew what I was getting into when I left though. Beautiful homestead, well done. Reminds of a friends place on a finger of Lake Norman in the high rent district. I was in WNC when the blizzard of 93 hit and shut down everything for a week. Most of that was to West of the Saluda Grade and Black Mountain though.
