You may want to start a que for this, because I'd love to have one of those as well.

Fun with bearings in the side rolls of the outfeed today. Skf 6212 sealed bearings top and bottom and the top one seats against a shoulder on the shaft. Spring clip on the bottom keeps the roller and bearings from dropping off the shaft. The shaft is 2 7/16 primarily, and about two and a half feet long. The roll is hollow, but made out of steel so still decently heavy. Altogether it's probably 80 ish lbs. Combine that with just enough room for me to get my body in, and not much else, you get a fun day.

Tried taking the roll off the shaft, found that the bottom bearing had spun enough to groove the shaft and seize the inner race to the shaft. Entire shaft and roll removal ensues. Then finding out the only spare shaft we have is buried under half a foot of snow and ice up on our junkyard hill. After four hours of mucking about and getting everything cleaned up and back together, it was done. Original shaft was seven thou under at the bottom bearing surface. It'll get built up with weld and turned back down to the correct OD for the next time it has to be replaced. 48F4BFC4-CFBB-49BB-BAEF-DF2C77CBDAE0.jpg14A10219-4ABC-4AB1-B716-AD06D8696CE4.jpg

It warps very easily with the amount of heat we use, its necessary to manage how much area you're heating. This is 3mm thick plate so it's not bad, welding anything thinner becomes more risky.

I'm usually up at 5:30 for work but damn 5:00 hurts this morning. Probably because I usually sleep until about 8:00 on the weekends...

Up bright and early (for me at least) to make the hour and a half drive from the better half's house to mine and work on putting this back together. 5B422E3E-3F26-42D6-8658-C072F66A61DD.jpg

Not that I ever looked but I never saw a portable water heater before.

I guess it works some what like a on demand electric water heater or is there a limit to how much hot water at one time?

Not particularly. The only small stuff is in a proportionately tight space to make it as difficult as possible.

Do y’all have a manual lathe with a taper attachment? We used to but the bosses dad sold it after we got the first cnc. I miss it, I ran it for a couple years before going to the mill. The taper attachment was fun to set up o_O

    Thank you.

If Fargo is anything to go by, there was NO ONE in the security line and NO ONE is waiting at the gate. But as we discussed earlier, I hate being late so I'm sure more will show up.

Or maybe I'll have the plane to myself!

I had the same experience when flying a week before Christmas. Nobody showed up at the gate until the last minute.
