Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

It was a 1973 124 Spider.

I sold it when my wife's niece moved in with us so she could park in the garage. It was the nudge I needed to pass it along to someone who would actually work on it.

This was the 4th 124 Spider for the guy who bought it.

 

The new exhaust for the midget came in today.

It’s funny, I bought this a few years back on the BST forum here. I forgot that’s where it came from.
Yeah, it’s exactly like an on demand water heater, it has an igniter ran off of 2 D cell batteries, that senses water flow and fires. My intent was to hard plumb it into my barn water system, so I’d have some simple hot water without running any big amperage wiring out to it.

All of those cars look fun! Not to work on, but drive!
My mother in law has an Austin Healey 3000 that she’s had since college. She recently had it totally gone through so she could drive it occasionally again. It was originally a cream color, but she had it repainted red way back when she bought it. It looks just like the one in the picture I attached.

So welding glass does have some similarities to welding metal after all!

Trying to say caught up.

Here's a clutch deburr tool I sharpened last night.

 

Didn’t know such a thing existed. That’s a neat grinder, from what I can see it has a collet holder and I’m assuming that spins?

 

Those big healeys are cool! She's sitting on a pile of money with that one!

 

Its a Royal Oaks grinder.
The head spins and can pivot up 45°.
Can also set up a cam for doing relief cuts.
The grinding wheel head also pivots and has wheels mounted on left and right side.

 

Took the sprite to a card and coffee and parked next to a 3000

 

I used to have a set of wheels like that!

 

I lack the ability, agility, patience, and money to restore vehicles.

I do have a sawzall or 3.

The current condition of the midget... it's a work in progress. We've finally crested the hill in terms of work. No longer taking stuff off, now we're starting to put the new stuff back on.

 

I've flown through Minneapolis a lot and I've never seen it this empty.

 

Enjoy it while we can, I'd rather it be empty than jam packed and annoying. Only downside is there was no food places open on my trip.

 

I found a shop with a $3 Diet Dew and I brought some Clif bars with me. I'll be alright until I get out of the Atlanta airport.
