I think I got a top-ten all time on Spiro last year. I hit it just after some rain with not a soul on it. Normally Spiro is so blown out, it's just a powder fest, but when it has grip and it's empty, you can fly!

@ginseng27 and I had a similar WOW experience this spring. The heroest hero dirt that ever did hero. Beat my prior PR by a huge margin and had the biggest smile on my face the whole time.

And then we didn't see any rain again... And no more hero dirt for the rest of the year, and possibly next year too. Not even any Fat Biking this year. :(

Yeah, I'm hoping this weekend gets us some valley moisture. My poor freshly dug EaMo trails are dusty AF already and have had no chance for winter compaction.

Are you the hero that digs all those EaMo trails? There has been so much improvement out there the last three years. Given to Fly, Creed, that new one Eastwood or something on the south end.

I can't take more than sliver of the credit, but the growth is astounding! Cougar is the head madman that can bang out a trail in a weekend by himself. It's insane. a guy named Brent and I do a fair bit of the digging as well. A lot of the berms, etc on the south side of Creed have my hands in them. Did a fair bit of work on fistful of dollars as well. There's a fair number of people that contribute, but it would be nice to have a few more when we go out.

Lake Mountain Trail Association on FB is where we post a lot of our dig day announcements if you're ever interested in joining us. If not, people enjoying the trails makes our day as well.

Thats awesome but I loathe facebook with the fury of 1,000 suns. I think the Utah MTB Enthusiasts facebook page is pure toxic. There's a utah sub-reddit that I wish would gain more traction. https://www.reddit.com/r/mtb_ut/

99% of bikers I've met on the trails are the nicest people (road bikers are more 60/40 nice) but put those same people in a facebook group and they turn into assholes. I've left 3 different local groups because all they post is toxic bullshit.

Got the pivot some new Sam Hill rubbers. Michelin Wild Enduros, used the cushcores Ive had sitting up collecting dust. Ready for next weekend.

Going to use the old valve stems from the pivot to convert the 5010 tubeless now. Woohoo

Well I be damned. Colorado Cyclist is super.

First thing, brakes were bled correctly no air. Not sure if that’s done by Santa Cruz or the dealer. Second, after checking the NX mech it was spot on, I wanted to make sure even though it was well secured it didn’t get disturbed in shipping, 3rd the tires are already tubeless to my surprise, 4th the bike was ordered on a Thursday and received that next Tuesday. Go fedex.

Wife and I squeezed in a ride at EaMo this afternoon before the weather came in. It was a weird mix of icy mud, hero dirt, and dust. Overall, great riding though for this time of year.

    W7Z1mIEnhiHAAthzAAkVdHTpepzLK-nGHFdprP1G_d6fba1a268a10f7e38d4e419344cfc63b2a6a311.jpg

Also, @backcountryj, bit more feedback on the Teravails. I'm finding that the Honcho goes flat in the garage between rides. It holds just fine during the ride but I've needed to re-inflate before every ride. I've been really happy with it on the dirt though.

Popped the bead off my tubeless tire. My rim is pretty worked and I can't get it to seat with my regular floor pump. Soooo..

Should I get one of those charger tanks that go with a floor pump or get a compressor? I was looking at the crankbrothers kliq and charger tanks. Any recommendations?

I’d go with a portable compressor. I purchased a small one from Lowe’s ten years ago and it’s running strong. It’s small enough to bring on trips and it plugs into the bed aC socket. Not to mention you can do other things with it like air up truck tires and use some air tools with it.
