I think the main reason for rivets was for reuse. If you broke your panel or something you could reuse the aluminum. However, the aluminum is pretty cheap. I debated this but eventually just went with rivets.

something that flexes is going to need a mechanical bond. JB weld is not going to hold long term and there are better products out there than that stuff.

Took the plunge and ordered up 3M Scotch 5952 VHB Tape.

I noticed van-lifers are using it to hold solar panels to their roofs, so it should hold up the aluminum bracing just fine! Plus, it should be a clean look without rivets on the panels.

I look forward to seeing your attempt. If it works it would be a great way to go.

So I got the alupanel in. Are you guys putting anything on the roof/bottom for the edges to not dent etc but not have an issue with leaking?

You're going to have to do some digging. Compression latches, That aren't junk and that aren't $30 and up are hard to find. I posted some links to some surplus RV sites a page or so back, I bought all six for about $48 bucks if I remember right. Make sure the arms on the back of the latches are long enough to reach all the way around the steel tubing, you can find drawings on the southco website, that spec the dimensions of different model numbers.

I think he was asking about the toggles for the tent windows? In which case, hobby lobby had some toggles for me and I bought some elastic and made my own.

It's dirty but holds up great. I do try to avoid larger branches but the sides have been drug across a few.

Actually what bed liner did you go with? I love how it doesn't have too much of a texturte.
    Thanks!

It was the Raptor two part bed liner. I ended up rolling it on with a foam roller and it came out good. It has some texture to it but not a lot.

I’m wondering what suspensions upgrade have people done after the build. I’m planning my build and right now I’m on stock OR suspension.

So I ended up getting Amazon southco latches and after receiving them and opening I see they aren't very waterproof and southco sells another version that is more waterproof. Have people had issues with leaking on the cheaper amazon latches and if so what was your remedy?

I've got Heavy Duty Dakar leaf back from OME. May add an add a leaf later on if will be feeling it's not enough.
I've got an actual SouthCo....and to be honest they don't look much waterproof either
