    Common sense ain't so common....

Anything can be politicized. If the past year hasn't proven that point then I don't think any lb sledge would drive it home.

Not quite the point I was trying to get across, but understand how it sounds. Jake is also a great contributor to the forum, and even better human in person. Jake also pokes the bear routinely, hence your post about him bombarding the forum with memes daily.

Here ya loud and clear, though. I'll leave it be now.

Not sure it would of had much effect on me in high school. Real life examples and having a 401K (not wanting to miss the free company match) is what helped me understand the importance of saving. Parents were also big savers so I had that example proved out by real life.

Tell her to just get a hitch hauler for the 4Runner. I added lights to mine so I could plug it in and have turn signals and brake lights when the bike was loaded and obstructing my trucks taillights. Yes, I have a truck and use a hitch hauler. WAAAAYYYY easier to load/unload when you're by yourself and keeps your bed open for all the goods or you can leave you topper on/up. You can get a fairy inexpensive hitch hauler on Amazon for around $70 or take a look a Harbor Freight's aluminum one. A dirt bike won't max any of these out. I only used two straps, one at each hand grip, too. Was so much easier and faster than loading in the back of my truck. If she insists on getting a truck, get an ATV ramp NOT a motorcycle ramp so you can walk the bike up the ramp when loading.

Or just go with this method. :D

When I was in 5th and 6th grade, Mapleton Elementary in Boulder, we had what was called Banks and Stores. Essentially it was a mini market place where students ran business' or took a job as a banker or tax collector, I was a tax collector in 6th (easy work for decent pay) :anonymous:, and every Friday for a few months in the Spring we'd turn the room into a public market for us to buy and sell shit. We sold chocolate chip cookies in 5th grade and made fortune.

A few weeks before we'd start the teachers would give us long division and multiplication work sheets and you'd earn money for each correct answer, work shown of course. Then you'd get a checking account and a check book. You'd decide what you wanted to do, start a business, be a teller at the bank, or collect taxes from the business' that collected sales tax in addition to the price. IIRC there was no "tax included" as the lesson was to learn how to do those things to complete a sale. If you started a business you'd obtain a business license and set up shop. The other jobs are pretty self explanatory. We had milk shake shops, cookies, stationary, etc, etc.

It was a blast and we learned a lot about money. We'd have to balance our check books, etc. Invaluable to me.
