Should I tell them: not a TRD Sport?

I was browsing around FB marketplace and came across this posting from a local used car lot. Definitely not a TRD Sport?

 

Definitely not a TRD Sport... wrong grille, wrong wheels, wrong hood

 

Wonder if they valued it as a TRD on trade-in?

 

Most likely as an SR5 on trade-in and as a Sport for sale. Snake oil in the tires too.

 

But it has the TRD sport bed decal.. how could it not be?
They never make a mistake.

Most times it is more wise to manage your own house and leave others alone.

The person who sold it to them made off like a bandit lol ..

 

The guy who put on a decal to make his truck a TRD sport reminds me of the people who make their truck a PRO with a grill...or maybe he liked it on his truck.

 

The early 3rd gen grilles sucked. You could hardly blame anyone then. The OR grille now is much better.

 

SR5 probably got a tow package and is better anyway . Not like that sticker, grill, and hood scoop is going to make you preform any better. If we were talking TRD Offroad however...

 

I worked for a wholesaler who would change badges out on Tahoe's to make more money at auction. Wouldn't be surprised if this was an intentional attempt to make a few bucks.

The dealership certainly won't care.

Worse, if they bought this thing at an auction and paid for TRD price :-(

Good point. I may think I'm doing a good deed but that may not be from somebody else's perspective. I just hope that if somebody buys that and that guy or gal becomes a member of TW and ...

 

I stalk autotrader 24/7 and I saw a fake TRD Pro on sale for a typical TRD Pro price. The VIN said it was an SR5 and it was painted in cement (2019) which wasnt a pro color for that year. many of the listers on seval pages have in acurate infomation. when i bought my truck from the dealer it was listed as an sr5... But the pictures posted in the add were real not the standard toyota pics. Trucks Bedside says TRD OFFROAD like how do they screw this up so often.
