Hey there everyone. I've been driving and loving Toyota Tacomas for as long there have been Toyota Tacomas! Awesome trucks. Still run forever. I have had 6 all together. Now have a 2016 that just passed 125,000.

I downloaded that large Toyota manual some time ago. It is wonderful for the all the details! I am grateful to whoever posted it. Been great to access torque specs and such. But it is long and hard to find things. I've always like the Hynes manuals. I know they are sort of for shade tree mechanics. But they are decent. Figured I would let you know Hynes has updated its manual for Tacoma to 2018. I know they are not the same as the factory service manuals and you have to read them with sort of a 6th sense as they can on occasion have errors. So if something sounds now quite right, it's probably not quite right and confirm it with the true Toyota shop manual. Same time it's a nice concise book for 80% to 90% of the work a person might need to do and they are easy to read. And it is so much easier to grab a book off the shelf than hunt through 11,292 pages.

    Figured I would share...

Are you aware there is an index?

I saw on the Haynes site they also carry Chilton manuals including Tacoma to 2018 with about 50 more pages, perhaps they are owned by same co. Anyone know how good the electrical drawings are? Any color? I do have the Toyota 2016 service manual pdf but like you I like a book lol.

I think Chiltons and Haynes are now one company. And I ordered the 2018 edition. Figure the 50 extra pages are for differences between gen 2 and gen 3.

And thanks for that helpful control f tip. Yeah I knew that one too. I just like a book to grab rather than a computer.

I've extracted the index from the 11,000+ page service manual, and created a separate document which has a clickable table of contents and also acts as an index. The extracted index document contains the Doc ID and Title. In my opinion it's much easier to search the extracted index's 126 pages than it is to search an 11,000+ page document. I simply search the extracted index and then copy/paste the Doc ID to the service manual PDF. I find it useful, perhaps you may as well.

Here is the download link. You'll need to download it in order to use the clickable table of contents, it does not work in Google Drive's preview.

It’s been a while since this post and the links no longer work. Does anyone have a current link? In desperate need of the manual! Thanks.
