Toyota has a test vehicle made already. It's only a matter of time.

It will tax our current infrastructure to the max..... especially places like CA. Course with everyone leaving there maybe they can manage. Haha

Hybrid will be the best youll see in a truck. The next gen Tundra may have gas/electric motor option.

When toyota's solid state batteries are ready and the recharge time is down to 10-20 mins yes we will. Toyota is taking a long time to go fully electric but that's because they are perfecting their new battery tech. I had doubts of going to electric but a battery that charges in less than 20 minutes with an extended range is a game changer and they are coming. I wouldn't be surprised to see a compact truck with a power plant configuration like the rav4 prime.

Eventually they will make a electric Tacoma ... I wouldn’t buy one . Just to replace the batteries can cost you around 5-6k dollars .

South Korea where most EV batteries are made i.e Panasonic, LG for Tesla, is where Toyota has recently invested in battery tech with Hyundai.Speculation is that a solid state battery with 500 plus range is close to release and I soon see Toyota with an announcement about it.

CORRECTION: Apple and Hyundai are working together. But Toyota has separate investment in battery tech.

A Hybrid in the truck platforms will be great. There is a hybrid version of the 3.5L 2GR in the Lexus GS450h. With the electric motor going full hoot output is 340ish HP and 360 TQ.

Electric, Hybrid, or Hydrogen what ever gets me a lower price on a gas powered truck is the one I like.

My neighbor went from an ICE car to a Tesla. His monthly gas bill was about $65 for the ICE and now he pays $28 for electric for the same usage.

I mean they can but I'd never consider buying one.
Need to be able to drive 400 miles, refill in 5 minutes then keep going.

My sister's three bedroom home in Honolulu averages around $15 - $20 bucks a month, with her solar system picking up the lion's share of the bill.
A little more when there's company in town, of course.
Is there a reason (outside of upfront cost) that more folks just don't do solar?

I would do it but I'm in the NJ Pinelands and would need to cut my trees and neighbors trees so that isn't happening. :(

Up front cost and convenience (and lack of experience) is probably the largest reason. However, there are a few channels out there on YouTube dedicated to people who live off the grid in Hawaii, even running entire farms on wind and solar energy.

She definitely didn't do the install herself. LOL
Seems like $500 bucks a month could equate to a solar system pretty quickly.
I'm guessing there's more to it. Possibly permitting, IDK.
