Just last week I started my truck and there was no sound. Tried switching to radio, bluetooth, CD and nothing. The Entune system is functioning like everything is working (changing songs, stations, adjusting volume all looks normal). On my way to work the sound kicked in randomly. Started the truck again at the end of the day and there has been no sound since that day. I am not experienced with wiring but I want to see if you guys would have suggestions on how to figure out what is going on before I take it to a shop!

Note: I had the rad for my air conditioning replaced two years ago, so they had to take apart my whole dash. So I am hoping its just a loose wire somewhere.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    Does it power on?
Does it light up when you turn on headlights?
Does it appear to be playing and just not making sound or is it totally dead in all ways?

Try wiggling the fuses behind the catch-all pocket (to the left of the steering column) to see if you can duplicate the problem.

I have not done any work to the audio system. I bought it after it was leased for two years. So I am pretty sure its the original factory radio.

    with all else being equal
And no mods to speakers etc.
I would be looking at the head unit itself.
We had some major issues with radios for a few years around that time.
Myself I had to put 3 in my 2011 and finally went aftermarket.

If your radio is acting normal except for sound.

    it could be the head.

give the dash a couple of good raps with your fist on the top of the dash
Just over the cd slot with the radio on.

you should get it confirmed with someone before, you do anything however,
    If it is, go aftermarket

If it’s the nav system my deck started doing weird stuff like that and ended up just going aftermarket. Dealership wanted 2k to go factory f that

The head units are outrageously expensive.

no CarPlay and $$$ for map updates for nav it’s an easy pass to go the aftermarket route. But then it starts the rabbit hole and want to update the rest of the speakers

    yea
It a tangled web people weave.
Myself, I’m fine with a head unit and hands free.

The factory head unit power has 2 fuses. One marked and the other listed as aux.

Just an update for anyone who will find this thread useful. I changed the head unit and my audio is working once again. I upgraded to the Sony XAV-AX5000. I love it. Allows the sound to be louder and have more base without having to upgrade my factory speakers. Great buy!
