Toyota's Respone to Aftermarket Grab Handle

Lol yea when I first read about it I thought "nope".

 

You're all over the map. Not gonna even try. The point of my original post was a simple PSA:

"Installing the aftermarket grab handle relinquishes Toyota Motor Corporation of liabilities associated with the driver side curtain airbag not deploying properly in the event of a crash causing injury to the driver."

Now if you'll excuse me... I am headed over to RaptorWorld for some real "trolling..."

We bought our first brand new car, a 75 or 76 Gremlin. Had a baby and I had to install a middle lap belt for the car seat. Good times
Not sure how the fuck we survived the 70's.

 

My first car was a Gremlin X with custom gremlin FOOT PEDAL! I’ll never forget reading “torque command” on the shifter indicator above the oversized steering wheel! Hahaha! 22gal gas tank... back when “range” mattered more than gas mileage.... good stuff!

 

OK, I accept that the airbags may or may not work, but they probably will work just fine because the panel has zero impact on the airbag since the airbag is in the headliner and only a small part of the airbag is under the panel and the panel uses the same mounting as the 2nd gen version with the handle.

 

Same! (I’m sure my tube doors are giving someone an aneurysm!)

I have really enjoyed this thread. There are two things I've not heard and those are;
A. Why do you need a grab handle? Are you fat, crippled, lost a leg in the war, toe jam or fumunda cheeze problem?
B. How come nobody brought up the current problem with the steering wheel air bags? You know, the one's that put a permanent tattoo on your head?
