Got 5th. Not happy but it is what it is. Should have done better, no excuses.

Rest, heal up (fully finally), then back at it.

Yeah lots of zeros. Even the pros were zeroing their stuff and getting pissed. Good thing is no other show is this heavy anywhere. It's only easier from here.

Looking at the score sheet and it all came down to the 1160lb tire. The overall winner and 300lb class winner won cause they each flipped it once. If I had flipped it I would have gotten 2nd lol

I had it up on my knee but just couldn't muscle it over. 20 other guys failed it too. That shit was HEAVY.

Idk, doesn't change that we all had the same weight, but still, probably why I could only get it to my knees and hurt my back. Still though, I broke the ground quick with 735 and got it to my knees lol I ain't mad at that.

Pros were misloaded too. Supposed to be 800 but was 870. Bobby Thompson noticed it and called them out. The pros ended up all passing on their 5th event, they didn't want to get hurt cause it was gonna be so heavy, and they didn't trust it to be loaded right.

Kind of a shit show, a very heavy shit show lol either way was fun and meeting the pro guys made it worth it. Just makes me want to get stronger.

That close to 735.... 700 would have been a PR but now I know for sure I can hit that.

I touched a block once in training and it was 190lb. Tore my rhomboid then didn't do it again. I hit 200lb warming up in between the MW and HW and that's the first time I ever did that lol

I hate it. I can press 300+ on log and axle but our 240 block killed me. Other guys made it look easy but struggled on log. It's such an odd implement.

If I still lifted, I would be getting close to some PRs. Hit 370 squat for 2x2 today. Next week is a single at 385 or 390, which both would be a PR. Supposed to pull 480 next week which would be a 15 lb PR

Just curious, why don’t you do back squat regularly? Just hate them or is there a little science behind it with some benefit to training or safety?

They don’t really transfer over enough in strongman to make it worth it. Most of the lifts have the load in front of you so front squats transfer over better and what I do 90% of the time when it comes to squats. I just have a little down time between comps and trying my best to attack my weak points now and hamstrings happens to be one of them. So back squats it is for a little bit.
