Ya that’s way too many people on a ride. We had 6 today on our ride and that’s the most I’d want to ride with in one group. Had a blast, I did something stupid and sunk my truck when I knew better. So I’ll be stripping the interior out of my truck tomorrow.

A diff breather would be a minor concern of mine if that was my truck stuck with water 6 inches above the doors

I mean it would literally prevent water from getting into your dif ruining the seals so it would actually be probably the first thing it should be done on any vehicle before attempting any sort of water crossing. Can save you thousands of dollars in repairs.

mine looked an awful lot like this back in May, I was able to vacuum and clean out the interior pretty well with a few hours of work, didn't have to worry about any of the mechanicals being damaged because of said breathers. The seals are all still good, fluid is still good.

Oh believe me, I understand the function of a diff breather! Not having one and being in that position isn’t a huge deal, just so long as the oil (and water) gets drained out upon reaching home. Ruining carpet, ruining the foam beneath the carpet, trying to get rid of the smell and potential electronics issues you might have from things installed on the floorboards sucks. I’ve been bailing water out of my cab with a cup before and the smell took years to go away. Oh, and I had to change my axle seals, alternator, and starter also. That was a good oopsie moment for sure

Definitely regretting jumping off in the hole. Luckily just gonna have to change out an idler pulley and fluids. Got the complete interior gutted today and washed at the car wash. Going to install some noico sound deadening while I got it pulled out. The plan is to have it nicer than it was before the stupid mistake.

Hey, just seeing if anyone would be interested in a used set of AllPro standard leaf springs for an 05-15 Tacoma? Getting the expedition pack due to increased weight. Looking to sell local before I post them in the sell thread.

also have a brand new, never used, in the box, set of doug Thorley short tube headers.

hit me up if anyone is interested and we’ll try and work something out.

I almost hated liking your post, but I've learned the hard way, if there is a bypass, take it. Hope it all dries out!

It’s all dried out now I believe. All of the sound deadening arrived today.

It's coming along. Got the flooring fitted, electrical roughed in, insulated, exterior lights installed. Next step is dry fitting interior panels, lots of poly to seal it up and then all that's left is finishing! i ended up using enamel on the road side of the 3/4 marine grade flooring to seal it. Waterproof and tough. I added a 3.5" lift to chassis to get it up off the ground. I'm going to add a tongue box for the battery and all the electrical stuff, then time to do some simple cabinets for front and rear galley, install the windows and test it out for a wknd. Looking at a tri-fold 6" queen size memory foam mattress that will convert into a couch. Should be some comfy camping. I'll have to make some custom roof racks at some point.

    Yeah.
My weekend project was installing my Backwoods Adventure Mods Hi-Lite front bumper. Went off without a hitch, pretty slick design including the extra reinforcement. Everything lined up perfectly.

I sure am getting jealous of these bumpers. I think they are the best design on the market IMO.
