Has anyone done the clear powder coated rock sliders to go with their chrome trim/bumper and wheels?

For one thing they look freaking good. And they make a 32x11.5 r15 size. It’s kinda hard to find. I was running 15” wheels before these trd 16” wheels I have now.

Y'all asked for some of the upgrade pics. I've only gotten two things out of my big order but I'm pretty stoked on them regardless. And thanks to you all for the pics to help me decide which color!

    IMG_4415.jpg

I am most excited about this because I've been eating on my tailgate a lot during COVID and the corrugated panel SUCKS for drinks...plates...butts...literally anything else?

I love the color and it fits great (even though it doesn't quite match the curve and I've seen complaints, it seems fine). It came with 4 long hex-head screws and I'm not really sure why unless it was there way of responding to complaints on this and/or other forums? But y'know, it's always good to have extra body screws...

I'm thinking I want to add a 12x12-inch patch of self-adhesive foam rubber to the left near my step since it says it gets slippery when wet. Living in Nevada, water and ice isn't really a problem but I feel like it could also be useful for placing tools, camping gear (such as the water tank) and or a camp stove on a spot that doesn't slide around. It is incredibly hard to find self-adhesive foam/rubber in local stores though. I might end up with some big ass sheet cut to size.

    IMG_4393.jpg

And this is just silly to me but I'm fussy. I tried hooking it to the clip like everyone said and it kept falling off. A $20 impulse purchase while fueling up. Will be nice during field fuel ups.

That's it for now. Lighting and awning is on the way some day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

PS. Ummm, anyone need some cardboard or a 3rd Gen Tacoma tailgate panel? ;)

"Just a little food for thought. Instead of mounting a foam rubber pad, what about a silicone mat to put there as needed? I ilke the look you have going there and think the pad may attract and hold dirt. You could get a larger pad to put there to hold a few items."
Ooooh, interesting idea. I was worried about the same thing. And also, there are times when you DO want stuff to slide in and out of the tailgate without sticking. Also silicon could handle any heat the stove might generate (I've not touched the bottom while using it but can imagine it gets hot). I could just put that in my little cargo box I carry around or behind the seat.... Smaaart

Finally found the inferno thread! I traded my 07 TRD OR Speedway Blue for a 17 TRD OR Inferno last month. The wife has always wanted an orange vehicle, so naturally approves. I wont let her cover it in OSU Beaver stickers like she would prefer, but she approves of my plans to de-badge and black out most of the chrome.

Looks pretty badass with the softtopper.

Just be careful with the back panel in winter. You in Oregon? The cinder gets on that panel and is a bitch to remove without scratching it. Mine untimely cracked when I opened it in sub freezing temps.
