It'll be illuminated. Several people have found that different switches have different hues of color or illuminate a little differently.

 

Thanks. I'm trying to match the current stock lighting. Was told the ARB switch is similar. Anyone have other experiences with this?

The switch is always illuminated. Rather than on/off via parking lights. It is also not dimmed. An illumination harness can address that via redirecting two of the 4 wires to the switch to feed from the dash illumination circuit which has +12V when parking lights are on and dimmed ground via PWM. I believe there are no illumination wires feeding the 4wd ECU as they would not be needed.

The AOB new blue is close to OEM. This is the best picture I have showing that. The garage switches are AOB new blue, traction controls are OEM. I could get one of the 2 low switch and the 4x4 selector but right now I have some hideous green seat heater switches next to it which make me want to

 

I do not recommend using the ILL+ circuit to power the switch and relay. ILL+ is just a 12V source. Dimming is done on the ground side. You only need to connect the switch ground to ILL-

 

Agreed. Illumination + for switch illumination only.

 

My point was, the aftermarket switches usually don't separate switch illumination and relay power. It's all the same wire on the switch.

 

The AOB ones I have are separate. My garage switches use dimmed illumination and the push button is completely independent triggering the opener which is 3v. The ch4x4 wiring diagrams indicate the same. One LED is used for illumination and a separate one feeds from the switch circuit when activated.

The bottom light (bar) has an Independent wiring circuit to connect to your dash lights. You can connect it to the dash light circuit or leave off, your choice.

I can't read that diagram. It is possible there are exceptions, but I don't think the two different switches I have were. Or maybe my memory is bad and it was just that there wasn't a separate ground to use for dimming.

 

In the end, you are making that extra illumination harness though too, right? So we can connect in to another switch and get illumination and dimming? Was that in a separate thread or will you post something here on that?

Got the harness today and installed it, it works perfectly and there's no way I could've made it look so good and have it plug and play thank you for getting everything set up!!

 

Just received mine! Cable-ties included, what a deal!
It was supposed to arrive yesterday, but USPS tracking said "Delivery attempted, no access to delivery location" due to my unplowed driveway. Oops.
Now I just need to wait for my switch, which I procrastinated on ordering until this morning



Looking forward to installing and trying it out
