Some updates; almost done with this truck

 

Is a truck ever "done"?

 

I mean as long as the mall doesn't get any harder than it is now.

 

More parts came in, not to mention having ordered some sliders -



Just need to figure out what kind of awning I want exactly.

For the meanwhile, I took care of some maintenance with my front diff, and finally replaced the drain plug with the Lexus plug -

 

Great build details so far. I just picked up a 3rd gen T4R and love it.

Agreed. I love it when part numbers are listed and what parts are used. Sadly mine is only a 2WD, but it'll be the new daily. I've been driving it for the past week, absolutely love it. Clean inside/out, one owner from San Diego with no rust anywhere. I'll start a build thread on it soon.

 

Did you find a part number for @eimkeith lower link mounts skids? You really need to sell those Lotus ones that do absolutely nothing and get the real ones. Trust me. Here's the link.

Lol I've had this discussion before with others.

I am quite aware of how awesome his kit is, however without the resources for welding, it's either the Lotus skids or nothing.

I do plan on getting into welding but not until we get the new house which I hope is this year. Be moving out to the Fresno area.

 

Fair enough. Welding them up is fairly straight forward. I was able to do it with the gas tank in place. Others have had to drop it.

Fresno would be sweet. It's super close to the Dusy and Coyote. Great wheeling in that area.

 

Just don't own a welder and the house I own doesn't have wiring up to snuff to weld...nor a garage.

I've got some great wheeling near me now but yes there's a ton of great views and places to wheel out in Fresno having followed the 559Yota crew on IG.

Going to be nice being within short distance of the Sierras.

 

Speaking from personal experience here. It's amazing being close to the Sierra.

That one was from this morning. The first really big storm of the season will be here Wed-Fri. Snow wheeling is going to be epic this week.

 

@eon_blue we need to go snow wheeling; bring Todd away from the desert too

 

We are getting snow here this week. Several feet at or above 5k elevation even. Possible 1" dusting here in town too.

Hoping to get the Maxtrax mounts on my roof rack so I can set up my boards tonight, and the awning hopefully this Wednesday.

I used to carry the boards in the back of the Tacoma, but with the 4Runner, I can't toss them inside if they get nasty and muddy so the roof rack fits the bill.

My chase lights should be arriving soon as well; hopefully they're low profile enough to tuck away at the rear crossbar.
