Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

Not saying that at all. You just have to know how to order or the parameters that work. My assumption is that none of the big name companies make a shock that fits this kit "out of the box." I have yet to get my hands on a kit to try though.

The kit is designed around an off the shelf 8” King shock, the hose length and fitting is the only change

 

Forgive me and my inexperienced shock knowledge. Sounds like I can make the Fox shocks work with custom requests. I was going to go with accutune with this setup and I’m sure they can make it work.

 

What size hose does King use on their standard 8”?

I know they are a Kings dealer never thought to ask if they could order Fox shocks for me. I wasn’t planning on running a secondary bypasses shock so I like fox’s DSC shock. My application is mostly a DD with going on fire roads for work occasionally.

 

I believe they are a Fox dealer as well. Worth asking while you’re ordering your kit since they know the specs.

If you are not wanting a secondary bypass shock but the advantages of the bypasses you'd need to get their ITB COs. But IMO that's a waste you are paying A LOT more for a CO that makes some pretty big compromises where if you just went with the Std RR or adjustable RR then you have the option of upgrading to a true bypass if you ever wanted or needed too. BTW King also makes a shock that does that.

I just got everything from JD they valve the shocks to their specs and set up everything that needs to be done to fit with the hoses and fittings. No need for me to figure that out and relay that to another company for my COs.

Had a few more hours at today. It’s slow progress, but I plan to have this thing ready for welding by the end of the month I threw on some primer so the metal wouldn’t rust until then.

I’m going to try to post as much as I can along the way for those still wondering what is all involved. By far this is the most time consuming part.

regarding prepping the metal bare for welding.

Anyone know which one is best?
I've heard some necessary features are:
-4.5"
-corded
-trigger
-better than the $20 Harbor Freight one that is loud and shakes

which narrows it down to
-Milwaukee 11 amp, $130
-DeWalt 13amp, $150
-Ryobi 7.5amp, $60

I imagine more amps is better, but for some reason the DeWalt despite being the most amps, has the lowest RPM (9000) while the others are 11000
The Ryobi seems most popular, with like 300 reviews vs 15 reviews on the Milwaukee
though all 3 of their review average ratings are pretty good

 

Just going to say I have the Ryobi and I like it. I imagine I'd like whichever one I bought...but I bought the Ryobi because of the rotating grip which is handy.

 

Those things are too big and awkward... get this one instead, its my personal favorite

 

I would recommend the Makita. I've had mine for over 20 years and it is indestructible. Been through more car projects than I can count...

I just get the $40 skil grinders from Amazon. Buy 3, put a cut off wheel on one, flap disc on one and a grinding disc on another. Saves SO much time.

 

A lot of the grinders now days are the same, just get one from any brand of preference with good reviews and get one that’s higher amperage and a good trigger. I like my dewalt but I also have a Milwaukee cordless and a harbor freight.

I’m using a Ryobi small 4.5in grinder. I too think one of the larger grinders would of been awkward to use.

 

I probably use my 4" grinder more than my 4.5" just because it is so maneuverable and fits better in tight spots. It's a little harder to find the 4" discs locally though.
