I have a 2010 Tacoma with manual transmission. It doesn’t always recognize that the truck is in reverse. It doesn’t always beep, the rear view camera in the mirror rarely works. And My reverse light bulbs don’t always light up. I know they all work but it’s rare when they do. I think it’s something to do with my shifter recognizing reverse.

    Any help???

Need to check your PRNDL switch first of all for proper operation.

    Yeah, it’s easy to do.

    Lucky he has a Manual.
The Auto can be hard to remove.

I’ve a 2011, and my connection to the reverse switch on the transmission came loose, causing an intermittent connection and therefore operation. Crawl under and check the plug isn’t corroded and securely attached. Easiest thing to do before anything else. Hopefully that’s it.
