Going to install my Spiker Hood Struts tomorrow. For those of you that have installed them, is there any helpful tips or advice on installing them. I want to make sure I do it right since I'm having to drill into the truck. Thank in advance!

Pretty easy. Just follow the instructions and take your time. Make sure you put the correct sized nipple on the rivet gun. Ask me how I know that.:D

Like Devious stated, just take your time. Several good installation videos on Youtube. You'll love the struts.

I recently installed them and it was easy enough, just take your time. I went a little too conservative on height (about 2-3" above prop rod height) wish I'd have gone another couple couple of inches higher.

Pretty easy to install I followed the video from runnin 4 tacos and the instructions that came with the kit. If you have an intake or anything mounted on the inside fenders you will have to modify some.

Buying the @SpikerEng gave me a chance to purchase a Milwaukee Cordless rivet gun. Seems like I’m always looking excuses to buy tools. They struts are great, just remember if you get an SDS intake or similar you might have to do some shimming to the intake housing or shaving to the outboard side of the box. NBD though.

make sure to clean the drilled holes, and prep them with primer, paint, or corrosion preventative, prior to riveting. Ski

Send them back and buy Sokie Tech. No drilling or riveting needed.

Just installed a set of these on Friday. Took 15 minutes and the no drilling or riveting is what sold me.

Interesting, how does the hardware mount? Not a lot of info on the website.

Where did you get them from? Ebay or? How do they mount?

Did you guys set open height as stock or how much higher than stock? Deciding to go midway because I'm short and might have a hard time closing the hood or I might be adding some ditch lights.

The Sokies use existing tapped mounting holes. One is on the engine bay enclosure the other is on the hood hinge.

    15 minutes? You’re slow
