    if it is indeed the Acoustic Valve I would think Magnuson should know about it - to fix coding. Presume you looked up the error code to confirm? Probably want to give them a notification if so.

    It’s the “intake tuning valve” it’s the one wire you just leave hanging with electrical tape on it. The code doesn’t even show up on some scanners. But I can read it with the flash manager.

    This can be set (High and Low RPM activation) with vFTuner software so you would think they (Magnuson) could put in a value to simply make it never activate = no code or CEL. @OVTune Mat is this possible to do using the software?

    Yup you are absolutely correct, the code is there. I guess it makes sense since that connection is taped off. As long as there’s no CEL lit up on my dash I’m good. :D

    Reading this thread has me so anxious. Maggie is getting installed tomorrow. The only thing that concerns me is the software. Im old school and found that part difficult. I bought a laptop just for it. First thing im going to do is the flash tomorrow. Any advice or tips to know if the flash got installed properly?

    i think I have everything loaded properly as i got the read file and calibration number from my ECu. They sent me back the locked calibration for the SC

    Or if you have someone near with vftuner software they can help you out with the install - or if they are the same ECU ID they can flash it for you. If the flash did not take it will say completed unsuccessfully. If it takes it will say completed successfully.

    What version of the SC Tune did they send you? V7 is the most current and they are working on next version. Yes they are all "locked." Bummer. :mad:

    The flashing is idiot proof. Hell I've flashed the wrong ecu calibration to mine and it still didn't break it.

    just follow the instructions click one flash, click the tune file, wait.. If the tune installs properly it will say successfully completed, please turn ignition switch to off.
    That’s all!

    i got 04B04_V7 so I believe that V7

    I reread the install post and step 19 was a biatch. So I borrowed this tool from one of my boys. Should make taking the crank bolt out easy.

    Put some rubber or and old belt over pulley to protect it when using

    I used the starter to remove the crank bolt. Put a breaker bar on the bolt and wedge it on the frame. Tap the starter and it’s loose. Old school trick I’ve used on lots of cars.

    could see using that for the install of the new cpb with protection as noted. Have a 1/2" drive impact rated at 1190 ft/lb torque that will hopefully knock the biatch out. Truth will be known soon when it warms up and the journey begins!

    Does Magnuson have an opinion on removing that restrictor? Seems like the benefits are obvious but are their any downsides or concerns about having warranty issues if its removed? Makes you wonder why its even there

    I was thinking the same, I'd be very surprised if it didn't void the warranty.

    There’s nothing it can hurt. There are hundreds of magnuson kits with the restrictor removed on many Tacoma’s and other cars including GTOs and dodge challengers. It won’t void the warranty because there’s no way they could prove it was removed.
    It’s there only for drivability. It ensures a smoother transition to boost.
