What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I'm thinking of raptor lining mine any thoughts? Considering doing a cool 90's style heritage stripe on one side as well

No, I welded all the holes shut and used body finisher to smooth them out, and then bed lined the truck. I also welded the antenna hole shut. More details in here.

Not tacoma related but wondering if anyone had any idea what these are?




The first item was just tapped into the OBD connector via 2 wires (1 red 1 black) the second was tapped in to stock wires on different plugs (4 wires total 1 red 1 black 1 green 1 yellow)

 

Not making a judgement, but I have been driving MN winters for over 60 years & have always felt placement was a big factor in sand bags, i would place one bag in front and one in back of each wheel well, and two crossways the front of the box right behind the cab, i used mostly 80# bags and kept them from year to year. again not saying yours isn't correct, just saying what worked for me, I sure understand your reasoning As far as strapping them down, i've never had them move

 

GSM tracker, probably a repo device.

 

Tube sand, that I can find, only comes in 60lb increments. I have always placed the weight right over the rear axle, the actual position of it inside the box doesn't matter a bunch to me. I run five bags, by the time they're all in, they fill the box anyway.

Gotcha I just saw the device on the first picture says imetrik locate I'm assuming that's the tracker not sure about the second one though. It's attached to a light which has an on and off switch in on mode the light flashes in off mode it stays on steady. Would that be the alarm? It's a used car so not sure if I should remove or not lol

Sitting in bed on my phone, I'm not entirely sure from the pictures. It has a min and max potentiometer on it and double wiring, can you trace those to splices or a connector?

Yeah it has a minimum and maximum dial on it like car amps one end goes to wires that splice into the factory wires and the other end plugs into a light. I just took it off and the car still acts the same locks and unlocks with the key fob turns on and off its a push to start nissan altima not sure if that helps.

 

My suggestion would be to get the actual wires it splices into and look them up, that would give you some clues.

The other one I assumed GSM tracker because it has an IMEI number. That means there's either a physical sim card in it or a virtual one assigned to it. If you own the vehicle, take it out, if not, leave it be.

It's a common install to recover vehicles when there's non payment and people are trying to hide them.
