Those banks are not very big yet, we were able to work through this one pretty easy. Jeremiah in his heep was playing around or could have walked over it in the same place we did.

    Cool.
Another question, what about the trails just north of the olrig Rd. They are not part of vmuts, would this be crown land?
Just north of the green line, olrig being the green line.

Another note, on the ofsc trails, to the left of bell lake, the olrig Rd becomes a snowmibile road, does that mean we cannot drive there and need to go back to the mattawa side?

I do not know if those other trails are crown land or not. You would have to consult the crown land gov map. There is some private property sprinkled around and some of the trails / roads connect them to the highway.

I mainly use VMUTS trails, there are so many of them. Of all different types. I have not got bored on them yet.

If this is for snow wheeling, maybe you have not done much of it yet? You seem to be concerned there will not be enough trails? Snow wheeling is not so much about ripping around like in the summer. It is much much much did I say much slower, way different type of wheeling.
Often I am trying to do the hardest / deepest snow I can can do, with out getting stuck. That means you get stuck a lot :anonymous: As giving up is usually not the option taken. :bananadance:

As I have mentioned a few times, Olrig road is a road 100% of the time, all year round even if unmaintained or not plowed. OFSC grooms sections of that road to connect major trails. We can still use it no matter what as it is a road 1st, and a snow mobile trail 2nd. We can go from end (highway 63) to end (highway 533) no problem, I just did it last weekend.

Yes, winch required, in the group. I would say 1 winch per 2 vehicles at least. Every other vehicle needs a winch. Then you are hoping the 1 winch is going to save you both in an emergency or critical situtaion. Not really what you want. As winches can sometimes be a struggle, and not work 100% of the time.

You will be way out in the middle of no where, you do NOT want to be stranded or unable to recover a vehicle.

This spot alone took us over 40 minutes to get through. After he broke trail it looks easy for me.

He would be totally stuck not moving, and I would winch him back out again. Did that about 3 times before he got through the mud. Then he was under the snow and plowing. So we had to use the boards to get him back on top of the snow.

I did not start doing this hard of snow wheeling trails until I got a winch on my truck. So I could be sure when I got stuck, I can get myself out.

Also why I have been practicing solo self recovery. I want to know who to use all the stuff I have really well.

    *Edit*
I now see you said you are bringing a snow shovel. Dont bother wasting the space. It will not help. Everywhere you get stuck you will need something to remove hard packed snow. I have a steel garden shovel from cnd tire in my ride 24/7/365. This thing puts in work snow wheeling. Has the foot area's so I can double foot jump on this biatch if needed and she likes it.

Oh, I though it was 28 days from Jan 12th.

Yeah, in that case we will have to figure out what's happening in that region at that time.

The most serious thing now is actually the fact that all snowmobile trails in that region shut down, and OPP is patrolling the area.

So that's kinda the last region you wanna go to at the moment.
Limit of number of people in a group will be 5 at that point, so that needs to be taken in consideration, but easily resolved by having 2 groups that won't ever get together.

Things are not looking to great to go up north. I might be staying away until they feel we should be welcome.

It looks like for now, it will be @llamasmurf private camp ground.

    Enjoy buddy!

I am lucky enough I can go out and no one bothers me. :notsure:

It is less than 20 minutes from my house to the access road that goes to all the trails, so that is the key to it all I guess.
