Glad to see there are still places to explore without snow this time of year.

Wont matter. Your grandkids will be figuring out who gets the parts pile in your estate before that truck runs again.

Long time lurker, First time (or close to it) poster.

This is my second, First Gen. Tacoma. Picked up this 04 recently and am stoked to make a weekend adventure truck out of it. So far I have done the DIY bedliner, and ditched all the chrome I could find, basic Bluetooth Kenwood deck and Kenwood 8" sub for under the seat. The interior and truck in general were rather clean for it's age. It's been a very well maintained and taken care of truck.

The other day I threw on some 16x8 American Racing 172's with zero offset, and put some 265/75/16 Duratrac's on them. (No lift because the people here said I didn't have to.) yet.

It's been a great time reading all of your posts, and learning what I should and should not do towards modding this one while geared towards where I want to take this project.

Double Rack project started......no point in posting until rails mounted to cab and camper shell.

Not today but yesterday. Oil change, tire rotation and greased up the driveshaft for the first time in forever. Also looked over the frame, good to see the fluid film still keeping the rust away after I sanded and painted a lot of spots last year. And decided to wash it and clean up the inside.

Something about the evening light that makes impulse red really pop when its clean.
    IMG_20210123_174603040.jpg

I do think I need to run it by a shop sometime soon as Ive got a pretty annoying creak up front when going over bumps. Sounds like its coming from both sides. Nothing looked suspicious when I checked it over yesterday, new oem lbj's last summer and it made the noise before those went on too.

When those that have done the Big 3 wire upgrade are doing the positive batt to alternator wire, are you just adding a wire that goes direct?

Meaning there are now 2 ring terminals on the alternator post?

Factory alt wire goes alt - fuse box - battery
You are just adding a larger wire going directly from alt to battery... correct?

Alt - Battery - Fuse box gets a new wire off of battery terminal. Thats how I did it.

So you increased the wire gauge running from alt to fuse box... then increased the guage from fuse box to battery?

You did not run any cable direct from alt to battery?

    No no.

Larger wire from Alt to Battery.

Then just ran a new wire from battery to the fuse box. So the fuse box isn't connected directly to the alternator. You don't really need to step up the wire gauge here unless you want to but even then you can't too much with how the wire is fed into the fuse box. 8ga might be as big as you could get...maybe 6ga.

    Thanks, was a fun day,
Got mine off eBay for around 45.00.

    It’s been very reliable.

It has a warning setting if it falls below a certain pressure too.

For 50.00 you can’t go wrong,

I’ve actually had two flat tires on my Tahoe and wish I had had one of these before the flat tires.
