Sorry. Meant the Elkas come with what ever coils you want. Think you are good to go!

I would go, just in case. They denied me a replacement but also stated any fixes (which I didn’t have any). I am at the point where if something is rusted out I can cut it out and replace it/fix it. Can you say back half four link :p

at the very least it’s a free inspection where they do the dirty work for you.

doubt they will even notice the holes. Drop bracket lifts cut an entire crossmember out and they still did it.

The Ronny Dahl video is as unrealistic as it gets - towed vehicle tied to a tree with a strap, while the towing vehicle races forward at 60+ kph. On the first pull the receiver crossmember bent, but they did repeated pulls anyway. Then on the 8th pull the tow ball finally let go. He hurt his neck from all the shock loads before the tow ball let go  Science experiment.

The danger is where the tow ball isn't rated for high forces. A 2" ball with 0.75" shank is often rated for only 3500 lb (you can see it engraved on top). A 2-5/16" ball with 1" shank is typically rated for 6000 lb, which is barely sufficient for our trucks buried up to the hubs, but can be used for lighter pulls (say, on ice). A class-V 2-5/16" ball with 1.25" shank rated for 14,000 lb will provide good margins. Always inspect the parts before considering it as a recovery point, and use a stronger setup if available, but the tow ball shouldn't be ruled out absolutely in all cases.

A hitch has similar ratings as the tow ball, so you need to inspect it for strength before putting a shackle through the hole. For example, this one is rated for only 3500 lb, this one is rated for 6000 lb, while this bigger one is rated for 14,000 lb but won't fit the OEM receiver on our trucks.

We can't see your cart :)

The non-resi Elka is about $100 more than non-resi Icon. The clicker-adjustable Elka with resi is priced the same as clicker-adjustable Icon with resi.
