What have you bought in the last 48 hours gun related?

How much you shoot is obviously a big factor on what makes a 4 year stash.

I feel like I can never have enough ammo. I can shoot on my property whenever I want so it is pretty easy for me to rip through box after box of ammo.

Also, the 7 million new gun owners rushing out to buy ammo aren't helping the situation.

 

Agreed. But after the novelty wears off, hopefully there'll be a huge bump in the used market. And the ammo prices will recede accordingly. We can always wish..

4 year stash math: 250 rounds per weekend, 52 weekends a year, 4 years. 52k rounds. Yipes. Admittedly would be mostly 22lr.

 

I go thru about half of that in rounds but it is 9mm so about the same money. Damn, now you made me do math and I never realized how much that is in a year. I might have to get a 2nd job.

 

Some of us have been gun owners and shooters for many years then decide to buy something new. Bad timing on my part perhaps but still stuck trying to stock up at least minimal supplies in a difficult time.

 

Been waiting on a M4E1 complete lower to ship from Primary Arms since early January. Keep getting "sorry we are trying to pack your order" emails. Wonder if they actually sold it and are waiting for another to send me...

 

I went to Academy to look at some new work boots a happen to go to the gun section. I was able to get 2 Magpul 9mm mags. Surprised they even had anything. No ammo of any kind. One Joker/Harley Quinn .22 pistol. The guy behind he counter asked if he could help me. I asked with what, you don’t have anything here. He said I know, it’s been a long day.

 

only thing i am shooting these days is my 22, everything else is sitting idle

I have more 300 sub loads than anything else but seeing how pricing has rocketed on these i have refrained from shooting anything i dont want to replace.

anyways....just put down a order for the new perst 3 gen3 that was just released - cant wait to blast laser beams down range

 

Right,,,,, so most no longer shoot 250 a week, knowing damn well they can't replace what they shoot.
MR/LR shooting, I normally shoot 20-30 rounds each, two different rifles. Range trip last week, I shot 5 and 10,,,,, and a couple hundred 22s

 

Yeah, getting caught in a caliber change sucks, nothing you can do, unless you're loaded up on other ammo and components and there's tons of trading going on. Most of the guys I shoot with will not sell,,,, they'll only trade.

 

Oh didn’t sell and won’t just added to. All my guns were geared completely toward hunting. I never had a big need in keeping an abundance of .270 or 308 just what I needed. All my handguns were either too big or too small be good for cc so I added a 9mm. Then decided for extra home protection to add a 556. Great choice in calibers poor timing in purchasing so now I pay the price.

 

250 rds .22 per weekend. doing what, shooting at what? Just curious.

 

Has anyone seen Target Sports get any ammo back in stock lately (even if its gone 2 mins later)?

I am signed up for text alerts for a lot of common calibers and I am a Prime member. Have not gotten an alert in like 2 months.

 

I am a prime member as well and have been getting ammo from them for 8 or 9 yrs now and have not received anything from them in 10/11 months or better.

 

Not scientific, but with the level of craze we're at, I find the email and text alerts useless. Things sell so fast,I think you have to know someone, or just happen across it (store or web). I don't get any alerts anymore either,,,, or not for things I actually want

 

In the same boat w/ Target Sports.

Even when I was receiving texts/emails it always was sold out within the few minutes it took to log on and purchase.

I have not been shopping for ammo in the last 10 months because all I see are young guys lined up on M W and Friday waiting to get into Academy to buy all the ammo. While I am busy going to pickup my infant Granddaughter. Those are the bastards that need to chill on snatching up everything

Last time I ordered from them was probably 10 months ago.

 

I probably haven't bought any ammo in almost 2 years. I've given some away to friends who recently got their first gun or first AR, but haven't bought any. So to recap, my stash is smaller, no new purchases, and didn't even shoot what was removed from the stash.....I'm doing something wrong.

 

I might as well cancel the TS Prime renewal. If they have no stock it’s pointless especially if Prime members don’t get advanced notice (even 5 min) of stuff coming back in stock.
