People often like to watch machining jobs too. I ask them to just stand back so not in line with the chuck.
I happened upon a couple of guys watching the other.....machinist?...I was on my way to advise them the same to get out from in line with the chuck, operator turned the lathe off and I see he has a 1"x2"x6" block behind the part he was turning.
I wasn't very professional in my coaching at that moment. :anonymous:

I'm not sure what I'm going to do for a finish at this point. Maybe powder coat, maybe bed liner... I still have a bit of work to do to the uprights on the side of the rack so plenty of time to decide.

Out of mild curiosity since I've heard different things amongst the guys in my shop, what do y'all run your oxy acetylene torch ratios at? The current setup on the main one at my work is 5 psi acetylene and 35 psi oxygen. That's with a 1.25 tip on pretty much everyone's torches.

She’s resting now. You did your part and you’ll feel ok knowing you did just that.

You should design/make an official TW Ban Hammer for the mods.

I usually set them at 25 and 7, this just because what I remember from high school shop class. The welder dudes I work with set them a little higher on both.
