Scott puts out some incredible original content but says ‘aluminum’ funny :D.

    Love his stuff.

However, I don’t think BO can, and I paraphrase here, “take all the time they want as long as they don’t go out of business.”

Technology is rapidly evolving, some of these efforts might start to look quaint..

It seems to me like they're building a portfolio of working technologies and the institutional knowledge that goes with them. At some point, they'll pick the right ones for a project and be off to the races. But who knows when, since they don't really talk much about their long term goals. Bezos must be a patient person indeed.

This is a good one for a few reasons:
    • Southern polar trajectory
      • Looked like the drone ship was closer to Cuba than Florida :D
      • Neat to see the 2nd stage go over Antarctica then up the Indian Ocean..
    • Record for number of satellite deployments
      • Later in the broadcast, they detail the deployments i.e what they are, which company..
    • Fifth successful launch and recovery for the booster
      • Two new fairing halves recovered.
    • Interestingly, LOS over China and Russia...

This is more of a pet project for Bezos. He sells iirc, 1 Billion in stock a year to fund Blue Origin. With such a "limited" budget, the comparatively small team has to find ways to make due with what they have. Their plan is to accelerate things once they start selling joy rides to millionaires and rocket engines to Nasa, but that could take a while before it realistically leads to their next rocket. Especially if SpaceX is able to get Starship orbital and landing this year.

TFR around Boca Chica has been canceled for today..

Keep an eye out on your favorite YT platform over the next few days for SN9’s maiden flight.

Maybe, but SpaceX will still have to be able to transport large quantities of fuel and cargo out to the platforms.

Though, for as large as those platforms are...it would be cool to see SpaceX use them for refit facilities as well. Land them, refit and then send them back up. They would be better off in so many ways going that route.

Not unless they use the underwater pipelines for LOX and methane. The drone ships could be retrofited for cargo use.

I wonder what the break even point is between the costs of all the environmental surveys, mitigation and construction of undersea pipelines and just running ships back and forth.

I think you guys are on to something with the rigs being used as retro fit platforms.

I’m no expert but would think the gulf has miles upon miles of pipelines supporting the rigs that are already out there. It would be a no brainer for them to rig up LOX and liquid methane lines.

Shit, with the Boring Company, the pipeline could be under the gulf.

Probably has a lot to do with failures. Which is more expensive to clean up and fix? An underwater pipline, or a ship accident?

I mean, if we have thought about it...surely the Brain Trust that is SpaceX/Tesla/Boring Co/etc has thought of it? Right?

Like how many boring machines can fit into a Starship for delivery to the Moon and Mars?
