vinyl decals on stock rim trd OR (tvdvinyl)

Hi everyone;
So I got these decals from tvdvinyl for the rims and interior and it cost me less than $60.
It was pretty easy to install even for me with zero experience. Just need alcohol, heat gun, mixture of water and soap and an old credit card for smoothing the surface.(I learned from youtube)

On the fence about getting these these until I get a black set of 16" TRD Pro wheels.

 

First thing I did to mine. Welp, I paid our Mexican camp security guard in Baja $50 to do them. He didn't use anything but a clean rag and elbow grease. Prolly took him less than two hours over two days, you know, on Mexican time!
I couldn’t be happier with the results!

 

Hard pass for me ...I like the look of the stock rims .great job on them .

 

I have these on my 2018, but just "ordered" a 2021 OR Premium in Army Green and want to get them again. The tvdvinyl website says these don't fit the 2020+ Tacomas, but not sure why. Are these on your 2021 that's listed in your avatar? It looks like it from the pic, but wanted to ask.

Also, does anyone know if these come from the same source that was selling them here about three years ago...some poster was here promoting them for his sister who was doing the work to make some extra cash. I hope they are one-in-the-same, as they did good work, and love to see growth and success of small business.

 

Yes, these are on my 2021 offroad premium. Just remember when putting them on you have to pay close attention to the corners. (it’s like putting on a screen protector on your phone)

Have you had any kind of problem with them?

 

Might just be me but the color/texture/sheen difference between stock paint and the sticker would drive me nuts. For the same amount of time and prep (much less $), you could've plastidipped. Install looks nice though.

 

It's a 10+ foot enhancement. Plastidip has its merits, but also its own challenges - I've done three sets of wheels with dip in the past on other cars. Frankly, with the taping, prep, multiple coats, glossifier, etc., it will come to about the same time commitment.

 

Thanks. I put them on my '18...once you get the groove of them, it goes pretty quickly.

Totally agree, I love my oem rims. In fact at some point I will buy one to replace the steele on the spare. Here is how I dressed mine up, all from AliExpress !

 

I actually can't stand them. I have the blackout package on the new truck. All the more reason to get rid of these shiny parts.
