I would like to get a Pro and swap the grille to an SR grille, and remove the Pro badge from the front doors.

I would also like a 4Runner Venture, and add the 4Runner Pro shocks and springs. The Venture looks to be the same as the Pro minus the suspension, black wheels, and the Pro specific tube rack, and some electronic bits.

I added a black exhaust tip that serves no function other than aesthetics.

I'm too busy using my ditch lights to watch the edge and wall of a shelf road in the dark to take a picture to "show you" what I'm doing.

I've got a great set of fogs. BD's, and they're amazing. But they're real fogs. They don't throw light very far (as they're not supposed to).
My bumper bar fills in the long distance for plenty of practical purposes. Seeing as far as you can on a slow trail to assess what might be coming up, seeing as far as you can down a shit interstate/highway (obviously not around any other traffic), OR when I want to have fun mashing down a desert road at 70 in the dark and want to be well aware of what the hell is ahead of me (also too busy to stop and take a video for you). And it's a NO-namer, hell yeah flea-bay baby.

My roof rack bar... ok, it's useless for now. And, that's cheapy foreign mfg lying huju booboo bulllllllshit. It was supposed to be a spot/pencil type reflector setup. This was supposed to both supplement the bumper bar, AND added increased visibility for both myself and anyone opposite of me when we're playing around in sand dunes. The higher up I can have a light blasting, the sooner someone on the opposite side of a dune might see it. Anyway, it turned out to be about as flood of a flood beam as it could be, and all it does is make the rest of the world black, and my hood brighter than it would be during the day. So for the time being til I find a decent quality replacement that is actually a pure spot beam, I angled it up slightly as to not directly blind anyone and use it on a strobe setting to supplement the hazards when I'm pulling people out of snow banks (it's amber, go ahead and hate).

My little 9" flood bars on the sides of my roof rack (used to be 4 separate 2" pods, but they were meh, and noisy-af when driving) are used for plenty of reasons, but mostly when my family and I, or the Scout unit that I SM for go camping and get to our sites later in the evening. It's the most practical way to get decent light to set up a site. Sure I've got lanterns, this is still easier and produces better light over a broader space.

Oh yeah, my rear bumper lights? Amazing when backing up in an odd space on a dark trail. Great when I'm hooking up my trailer at night. Good general utility light for anything that's behind you. I use them at least once a week. Maybe next time I'll ask my wife to get out and snap a pic of them in use.

I don't have puddle lights, @MESO help me out! But I would if I could. I take it you've never got out of the truck somewhere on a trail in the dark, and even though it's pretty much flat ground you happen to step out onto the big watermelon sized rock that tips over and rolls your ankle. I've thought about hooking up the side mounted rack bars to the interior light system and use them as such, but they're too bright, and would be kind of annoying if those went on every time I opened the door.

I thoroughly agree with you on one thing here though that is inexcusable.... The hood scoop light. I mean, even if you got a stupid high quality laser hyper spot beam, you're still going to be blasting light onto the hood and getting glare. It's just not a practical spot to place a light. And it's not like it's a big enough space to put in something meaningful. You'd be better off with a bumper bar. This is one of those that I think it absolutely aesthetic, and unnecessary. BUT, the pieces of steel in my ears, lips, and eyebrows (although now gone) were the same, but I liked them, and that's all that mattered. So, I don't think anyone can justify this one with anything other than "I just wanted to look cool". I will wait with you for the useful example.

Point being, your whole list is a little excessive, maybe, depending on what you're doing. If you're referring to the dickhead who's running to to get milk at Albertsons with them blasting, I'll join you in recommending to them that they see the procto to help find their head.
But just because you don't have a practical application for them, doesn't mean others don't.

I'm not being trying to be an asshole to you or anything. Just don't be so subjective in your thoughts. Practicing objective thinking is always going to benefit more.

    Cheers n beers.

If you've seen some of the people working in water treatment facilities you'd drinking bottled water too. I guess we already forgot about Flint. The system is only as good as the people operating it.

I know one dope that super happy about getting his T1 the thing is he's been working on that for 20 yup twenty years. It's been my experience that this field draws some real dopy idiots

Who looks at a Tacoma and is like “dam is that a TUNDRA???”

I thought the whole swapping trend was the idea that you could make a replica model for a car you couldn’t get your hands on(not to make it “unique”) It is so half a** to do a Pro grill on a fully stock OR/Sport/SR5/SR. Atleast swap the wheels and add TRD pro badges.

This isn’t just isolated to Tacoma’s either. Audi honeycomb grills, WRX with STI spoilers, Focus SE Sedan with RS hatch bumpers are amongst the mix. Like c’mon try harder. It’s like putting a Benz hood ornament on a clapped out truck.

Have you considered the possibility that these people aren't trying to make their vehicle's look like something they aren't, but just think that those swapped parts look better? Like, the standard 3rd gen grill legitimately looks like shit. I could see why anyone would want to switch that to something else, and the pro grill is certainly a better option.

I don't totally understand this statement about the inserts? Is it so bad to add a little contrast to the tailgate? No one is confusing anything, I don't believe at least. Bottom of the tailgate is kind of bland. I mean, really? Ok sure, I might not prefer bright red inserts on a black truck or similar color combinations, but hey if you dig it whatever. I think my black inserts on my quicksand really add a nice touch that Toyota dropped the ball on. I think the black inserts look great on most of the colors really, white especially. Hell I can even admit that I don't personally care for the crazy American Flag inserts, even though I love my flag and country. But again, if you like it, go for it.

As far as grilles go, I like the style of my OR grille, but what possessed Toyota to make the thing chrome I don't know. Pro grille looks nice, but it's a bit bulky/heavy looking for my personal taste, and too expensive . So I dipped my grille. Oh Shit please don't flame me because I did something someone else did too :D.

I always thought the "swapping trend" was because, you know, you liked something, so you did it. Do you pay a 10k premium for a truck with features that you don't want just because it has a grille that you really like which you can buy for <$300? Or are you an elitist and don't believe you can have a pro grille without having suffered the financial shafting? Do you not eat steak at home because it's not the steak and sides you get at Flemmings? *sigh* you're probably vegan and don't get it anyway, which is most likely why you're so ornery about peoples mod choices.

Look man, just try to make objective and adult statements like "I don't personally care for _________", and understand that when someone spends money on their vehicle, it's (typically) something they're proud of, and it's none of your goddamn business to shit on them for it.

By the way, vegan. You've got 4Runner wheels on your Tacoma? Try Harder, at least put a camper shell on it so it looks like an SUV. But really, I don't care that you do. You found something you liked that works for you, and that's cool man.

Oh yeah, and HEY GUYS!!! This dude's got a bush guard!
But am I going to flame you just because (watch this next line) "I don't personally care for them. I'm sure they've got they're place, it's just not for me". See, nice and polite right? Or I could just say that you've effectively decreased your approach angle, and I don't think it was a great idea because of that. Still more objective than subjective, and I'm not sounding like a dick. Or I could be you, and say that they look like shit, you should have just bought a real off road bumper, and that between your SUV wheels and bush guard, you're a camper shell and a few decals away from being a Jurassic Park Ford Explorer.

But I didn't, and why? Because it's what you spent your hard earned/my tax dollars on, because you liked it, and that makes it worth it for everyone. Because at the end of the day, we're all here to enjoy OUR trucks, and be decent to each other, right?

If you don't feel that's the case, then fuck...

*by the way, what's up with the back-rack? Move a lot or cargo? USAF got you hauling gear in your civi ride? Or did you just think it seemed like a good idea?

I wouldn't consider that mod useless at all in the slightest, you have replaced the tested logo designed to remain attached in the event of airbag deployment with one that will become a projectile effectively turning your shotgun squib powered safety equipment into a claymore!

Its a 1/4 inch thin plastic disk that's been epoxied to the airbag cover. I'm not worried Chicken Little.

    I'll take my chances.

As part of my job I get strapped backwards into an E-2 Hawkeye maintained by people just a few years out of high school and launched off a Navy carrier at sea a few times a year and I'm a 56 year old man doing that. Sometimes I have to fly in a helicopter miles over the ocean with no place to land in case of an emergency. I have to accept risk of my choices all the time at work so driving around with a thin plastic disc attached with silicone adhesive to my airbag cover doesnt keep me up at night. What if your airbag deployed with you taking a drink from your Yeti? You'd probably suffer more damage from that than my little plastic disc.

Like I said, I dont really give a shit what you people think about what I do to my truck.

LMAO I was just trolling you. Seems like it worked.

Looks good man. I like the classic touches, but so long as were being pedantic, it's an RTIC not a Yeti. :burp:

And my airbag probably won't deploy because half the time I forget my seatbelt, just used to motorcycles start and go, and I leave it off till I get to a main road so I can have more maneuverability in my seat to see in parking lots or when backing out the drive way what have you.

    :anonymous:

In the meantime can I interest you in some Prep H for that butthurt sky guy? :luvya:

I've busted chops face to face in good humor with some of the best while you were still hopping nut to nut in your old man's bean bag. It's easy to recognize a smartass, now you've been exposed.

You think about little boys "nutting" often? That's frightening.

I am curious how often you get into dick measuring contests with women though, you're obviously playing with a serious handicap.

But I sincerely no bull apologise, you have nice day sir.

Unfortunately seen a couple guys like that on the road, worst ones are the guys set up like that and then have the Carolina Squat too. And naturally they have HID's in their reflector housings now shining straight into your back window blinding and pissing off everyone.

Had a guy like that actually show up to a meet and greet, he walked around for about 10 minutes just laughing and pointing fingers at all of our "Little gay ass pussy wannabe off-roader baby trucks, you guys need to get a real lift and some actually big tires!"

Like dude... You're also driving at Tacoma just one that's completely useless off-road and looks like an utter garbage skateboard. He was shortly thereafter asked to leave and did so in a very mature manner; a burnout through the entire parking lot nearly losing it at the end and almost taking out someone else's rig.
