I put new steering rack bushings in and did some clean up while I was under there. I also left the sway bar off just for fun since it was off anyway. I just wanted to see how it felt and it isn’t as drastic as I anticipated. Rides pretty nice actually.

95’ had it since day one. This thing has been more places than it ever had a right to be. Uncountable camping/hunting and fishing trips. Third motor due some BS issues. Finally finished the lumber rack to be able to mount the Tuff Stuff tent on top. Some armor and been doing some research and parts collecting for a SAS. I’m thinking Dana 44 and want HP and open knuckles. Hard part is finding that axle and what year trucks to look for it in. Any ideas?

Thanks! Part of the plan for sure, the lack of a cargo light on this truck has always been a little annoying.

I believe late 70’ Jeep Grand Wagoneer has the exact axle you want. Someone corrected me if I am wrong on the year but my Brother just pulled a axle of A Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It is the exact lug pattern and everything. Left side pumpkin.upload_2021-1-26_6-34-51.jpg
If you can find one of these in a salvage yard. That’s what you need. Please correct me if I am wrong

It’s worth it. I used ford grabber Orange. It was the brightest color of Orange I could find.

Good luck, these are getting super hard to find for a decent price, they are on the rise quickly! Ive been looking for one thats the right price to hold onto... but that being said, I do believe you are correct on the axle

Alright this is hella clean and I love it. Great job dude.

My buddy did something similar with rails they use for kayak systems. Cheaper than the Ram products I think. I am contemplating this myself for a tablet mount since my third mob armor one broke.

Thanks! I was surprised that my very design conscious sister liked it even. Tried to keep it simple.

Got tired of searching for the damned seat belt buckle. Came across the little rivets I used to make a tool bag for the motorcycle.

    fixed!

Thanks! I have my moments. I was standing in my basement KNOWING I had something I could use... I keep every damned but/bolt/bracket/etc...

I’m going to break the other side off and do this over there so they match and I won’t have to worry about that one in the future.

So I did some weighing with my bathroom scale because I need to know what the weight of all my crap is. Shoulda done it earlier.

    OEM 6' bed: 199 lbs
    Rear Bumper: 48.8 lbs
    Hitch: 49.6 lbs
    Spare Tire: 58.6 lbs

My new flatbed frame: 205 lbs.
Aluminum Decking for flatbed: 33.7 lbs
Taillight panel: dunno yet, probably 10 or 15lb.

Can anyone confirm any of these numbers? I think what this tells me is that my truck is in the ballpark of where it should be, but that I need the new leaf springs to simmer down. Maybe I'll pile a bunch of crap on it for a while, its not like I'm short on scrap steel. Also tells me that sheet metal construction is fantastically weight efficient. I also should put a bumper, hitch, and spare -on.
