I hear ya.... Hence my opening comment. I'm on borrowed time with my '17s stock battery. So far it hasn't given me even the slightest hint of trouble though.

you get the new ECU tune from Toyota? I have an auto but I’ve heard it’s applicable to the manual too. That really woke up my truck drives so much better now.

I upgraded from 04B12>04B13>04B14. All updates have been better, but none compare to OVTune. The first thing I do before flashing a tune is get the ECM up to the most recent TSB revision.

Fuckin' go for it. They're fun as hell. It's not going to be fast, it's not going to do well on "sweet jumps", and it's not going to get you out of the sand pit. If you just want to putt around on some trails/fire roads and explore or go down to the bodega for some beer it will do you just fine.

Exactly, anything that can do any of that really well, will see me dead. I need one where in my head I can pretend, but reality keeps me safe

I got a lot of things I want to buy, I'm also waiting on 57 weeks of unemployment to come through, so money is tight until then. But i'll tell you guys what, once that gets sorted, I'm gonna be getting a generator for the house and one of these sweet rides! Only 6 more weeks until I potentially get an appeal hearing to prove that I am, in fact, MYSELF.

    Fuckin' A what a PIA it's been.

I have not! I am going to setup a day for my 15,000 mile maintenance for sometime this week so I will ask about when I get there. I had no clue it could possibly help the manual as well!

I can appreciate that... I grew up always having old, dual shock dirt bikes. None of them were overly quick or powerful but they were fun as hell. I just like the small dirt bike over the moped just because, if you do need/want to take it on the road, it'll do more than 40. But hey, 2 wheels and an engine is going to be fun no matter what it is so, you do you

I've read these things get up around 60. The rural highway I live on is a 45, and nothing is above 50/55 within 40 minutes or more from me. I understand its limited, but a real bike would end in a bad accident I just know it, I need a cage if I'm driving anything with any real speed to it.

The most fun I've had on a motorcycle recently has been my buddies Suzuki TU250. I go about 265lbs, and this bike has something like 17hp on a good day. I spent a day leading a group of go fast sport bikes around the mountains of VT on it, hilarious fun. It was either throttle full or throttle no and timing that is super fun. It's way more fun riding a underpowered bike fast than an overpowered bike slow.

Couldn't agree more with that. I love the small, single cylinder thumper. Even in a 30, I get to bang through 4 gears like a madman and still barely be going 35. When I had the Katana, I could get to any speed limit in the state in 1st pretty quick. It's fun with that much power and speed, but you can't really use it around here unless you get it on a track.

That was what I liked about my 250 Ninja. You could absolutely flog it on a back road without killing yourself, and it was so light that I could outrun bigger bikes in the really twisty stuff. I mean, all you had to do was think about what you wanted it to do coming into a corner and it was already doing it.

I resent your hatred towards sportsters :pout:
I have never and will never trust the ice to hold anything more than myself. I don't know why people drive out on the ice (I mean, I know why, but it just seems like a huge risk for very little reward).

How many vehicles fall through the ice into the lakes every year? It's ridiculous!
 A fellow diesel fan :hattip:

Did you say 57, like a year and 5 weeks?! HOLY SHIT! You'll be a straight up baller once that comes through!

Unemployment dicked me on my taxes this year :angrygirl: I had a decent return until I added that 1099-G. I had them take taxes out too, but it put me in a higher bracket.. Grr

I second that. The Katana was a ton of fun, but went 0-being Bubba's jail cell bitch in a hurry. But oh man was it fun once I put the stock bars back on it for extra ricebike cred

I like the sportster 48s, but the others are unwieldy for how little they are

I have no issue with my 1200 :notsure: It's light, easy to maneuver, and fun to throw around down the road. The 48's are cool, but only because of the forward controls. I'm not a fan of the fat front tire style, and that fuel tank is TINY!
