The reason my Ex Fiance got rid of it was because in the middle of a blizzard on her way to work she noticed a big wig executive surgeon broke down and stuck in the deep snow. She picked him up and drove him to the hospital and all he could talk about was how crude the Tracker was so she didn't want to be seen in it any longer. I always found that story funny because his fancy BMW left him stranded and he only criticized the vehicle that rescued him.

One of my Aspie friends who didn't have a license (Not particularly close friends with him anymore, but he is now almost 34, still doesn't have a license, and is fully dependent on friends and Uber to get around) was known for being a mooch back in the day; His mom is obnoxiously "Buy American" when it comes to vehicles (though she has no problems with German cars and owns a BMW Z4 as her "fun" car). This has rubbed off on him. One time before I had a license, my mom was giving both of us a ride, and this friend started bitching about the fact that my mom drove a Honda Odyssey. I told him if he didn't like my mom's car, he could find alternative transportation; This shut him right up...

As for the doctor, I would have told him that he could walk to the hospital if he didn't like my vehicle!

I already have an OEM cruise control installed my truck, but it is not wired to the ECU...

Also, could someone find me the thread where the guy put cruise control in his base RC that wasn’t prewired?

My mechanic is helping with the install and printed this out; He can’t figure out how to wire the cruise control into the existing ECU...

You can download the instructions from Rostra's site (for their kit, but wiring applies to any other kit - including complete diy installs from scratch). The Rostra instructions tell you which pins in the steering connector goes to which pins in the ecu.

There's one patch resembling a 1990s Toyota truck done up in the same livery as your Baywatchmobile; Didn't order that one yet...

I was quoted $429 for parts and labor by H&R Radio in Warminster, PA to install OEM-style cruise control in my truck; Most importantly, this includes the steering wheel-mounted switch and not various un-OEM-looking stalk haphazardly mounted on the steering column (like the aftermarket system in the 1990 Mazda B2600i my dad bought in 1998). I think I am going to go for it, and just sell the parts I don't need (I already have the OEM switch and wire installed in my truck; Just have to patch this into the ECU). There is a garage called Dempster's in Hatboro, owned and managed by a Toyota master technician; I went to him yesterday and he was unwilling to mess with adding cruise control after the fact due to potential liability issues. He recommended H&R Radio, and that's where I went. What I'm wondering is whether not I can buy this Rostra kit that H&R is selling, and have my mechanic (Pete) install it cheaper...?
