    I mean sometimes. :notsure:

Pretty wild to me to think that grown men believe eating plant-based meat and sitting down when they urinate is emasculating.

But that's not what this thread is about.

Not just Tacoma's but any rig that mounts their high lift jack up on a rack, on their front bumper, or the worst on the hood. Of course we dont try to get in a wreck but with serious impact I could see those bolts shearing and then you have this torpedo flying into the cab of your truck.

It's really nice passing a truck with a wide stance/no mud flaps in the winter that's spraying anti-skid 360 degrees...

And you know that has to ride terrible. There is a reason we went from wagon wheels to an inflated rubber tire with some sidewall.

Don't have any social media, unless you count TW, don't like it don't care about it never saw any good that could come of it.

I actually have a strong distaste for celebrities and hollywood in general, for kind of the same reasons I don't like social media and vice versa. I could not care much less about who is who or what they said, though perhaps sometimes what was said can be meaningful if it isn't simply virtue signaling.

For example I do believe that men showing emotion should be normalized or else they end up bitter and hurt as you seem, like they still have something to prove to someone other than themselves, And mental health is an extremely important health topic, but not this topic.

    :stayontopic:

You are more than welcome to respond in any way you choose, and if you do actually need someone to talk to you're more than welcome to join me in my direct messages.

I would be happy to help.

Toxic masculinity is simply a recognize term in psychology for the type of behavior you display and present, it isn't necessarily good or bad in itself: more or less just an obsession with with being masculine, which is also frequently seen in the homosexual (particularly gay) and transgender communities.

It isn't a threat though perhaps you should reflect on why you see it as one.

"Mods" I have done to my stock '06.

    WeatherTech floor mats
    WeatherTech mud flaps.
Bumper to bumper tune up and maintenance.

Planned "Mods" (on hold due to ramifications of Covid on budget)
U-joints with zerk in the cap
    Serp belt, tensioner and idlers
    Painted OEM 17" wheels
    WeatherTech window vents
    Kenwood HU w/GPS
    Pioneer Speakers

The first 2 planned "Mods" maybe forced due to failure.

My view on other people's mods is it's their choice. I don't have to approve or agree. Sure, I may wonder what was rumbling around in their head. IMHO, there are numerous "Useless Mods", but each has its appeal to the owner.

The "Mods" I do are primarily for maintenance, a few for comfort, some for pleasure. All need to integrate into the truck without looking like a bodged up add-on. I don't appreciate the gaudy "look at me" mods, like the LED whip antenna. I believe those are from insecure people with Jr High minds.

Yeah I have seen a few like that down here in SC. My first reaction was "Wow! Looks like he tried to haul a trailer that was WAY over the tongue weight limit or loaded a few tons of bricks in back and blew out the rear suspension." But then I found out that it was done on purpose...

I really want to know if the first person to do it genuinely did it intentionally just to be different, or if they bought some lift parts thinking it was for the entire truck but it was only for the front, being unable to afford a lift for the rear but already having the front parts installed decided to just roll with it and tell everyone it was done intentionally out of sheer embarrassment for their mistake.

Speaking of that. When I got my eibach lift I had it on the third setting and it was higher in the front than in the rear even with an AAL and a c4 low pro bumper with a winch in the front . So I dropped the front down a setting because I didn't want it to to look like a douche mobile.

Function > authenticity > cosmetic. Dipped grilles, badges etc. - fine. HID swaps, light bars - fine. Swap in high trim parts onto a low trim HELL NO lol...I was a serial offender for this. Had a WRX badged as STI, Mustang V6 with Shelby bumpers, A4 with RS4 grill, 328 badged as 335. Once I made enough to afford the real deal I was disgusted by what I did.

Btw I’m not in the military anymore. I do car sales and contracting work on the side. Don’t worry about your tax dollars being wasted because mine is being wasted on bs and alcohol. Everything on my truck serves a physical purpose for my application besides the wheels. Used set happened to be cheaper than buying a new set tires for my steelies, which still had plenty of tread but sucked in snow.

Actually no, I haven’t lol. I automatically think you’re going after a pro look. There will always be people who like the look of whatever grill is out there. But you cannot deny that a lot of the pro grill sales are driven by the fact that it is the same as the one on the sought after, expensive TRD Pro. Otherwise it would be as common as the blank mesh style or Tacoma printed across.

At the end of the day I don’t personally care what people have on their vehicles. As response to OP’s useless mod thread, I said what I said. No hard feelings intended.

We did this in the 1970's but, then it served a purpose since, you're always going down hill...
