Pretty sure northern pines does breakfast all day. As far as snowy back drop for off roading, probably not going to happen. Only a few patches here and there left from the little bit of a storm we got last week

Imo Brandy’s has the best pancakes on town, but they closed at 3. Northern Pines is one of my favorite places in town, I’d check them out. Northern Pines also has a great french onion soup

Also for an easy spot to get some snow pics, check out Mt Elden Truck Trail, just northeast of town off of highway 180 and Schultz Pass Rd

Thanks y'all for quick responses, I'll get some snow pictures another day when I'm up there. And so y'all know, northern pines stops breakfast at 2. French onion soup + chipotle ranch bacon burger still made for a solid meal. I'll be up there a lot since I found out my knee that has been practically rebuilt twice can hold up for snowboarding.

Anyone know how bad the roads really got today? Was going to go up to snow bowl and parents got scared cus of the AZDOT suggestion to not travel unless essential. I'm only annoyed because 2 weeks ago I asked to buy myself some wildpeak at3w's to replace the garbage summers dealer put on, and I was told I don't need new tires. Any pictures also would be great to show. If I had the wildpeaks I know I would've been fine on the roads, but with summers, not too sure.

Roads were not bad today, however Snowbowl sold out for the weekend as of mid week.

Their still halting traffic at the bottom of Snowbowl road if they are at the “covid capacity” for the terrain that’s open for the day. Sadly it’s first come first serve this season and doesn’t matter if you are a pass holder.

Yeah heck of a recovery mission. Someone on the fb group posted that they were stuck, I was available and went to rescue them. The tundra was also trying to go rescue them but got stuck in the process. 3rd gen runner was out playing and stayed to help the tundra. 1st gen runner was also out playing and him and I went forward to get the original stuck guy. When we got back the tundra was more stuck and there was an f350 with completely bald 35's stuck about 100ft behind them. 1st gen runner and myself were the only two that had any business being out there and got everyone out eventually

Yeah this was a good one. Snow was 2-3 feet deep or more in some drifts.

Honestly I have no idea what tires anyone other than the 1st gen 4runner was running. They were usually buried to deep haha. But yeah that was likely a big factor. I know he was stock suspension wise so probably running stock size tires as well. Whether they were an all terrain or snow tire didn’t really matter. The ones getting stuck didn’t have enough ground clearance and didn’t have at least a rear locker so they’d high center and just spin one tire front and rear.

Id come play but I dont know how good of an idea it is with only the one tow hook thingy in front and nothing in back. Sucks when you get so buried in snow that you cant even wrap a strap around the axle.

Probably not the most ideal, but sometimes that's how a fun and exciting story starts!
