It is worse in Colorado Springs but yea I'm tracking all about the Huntsville market. I just need the Biden administration to pull the SPACECOM HQ to Colorado so it deflates the Huntsville bubble a bit. I'm trying to find a house within pedaling distance of a trailhead but also in a decent school district.

That’s a tough find in this city for sure. I imagine the space force will be here in hsv, but we shall see. Definitely booming even without that...

Its not actually the Space Force headquarters, it is the combatant command for the space domain...its a bunch of civilians, and all branches of the military.

You are correct, Huntsville needs no help in the growing department. Thats why I just need a little bad news to calm people down...lol.

trail impact and rider inexperience at higher speeds is my concern. there were plenty of close calls this summer with newer riders out on regular bikes. theres a popular trail around here that dirt bikers go up and mtb go down. tons of close calls if not a few head on collisions there.

that said, id like to get one for my gf or dad so they can accompany me on my rides. i guess i would sherpa them and hold the lead to prevent any of the stuff i mentioned.

im for them if the education comes with it

You have a spot that both MTB and Dirt Bikes ride together. That’s crazy, cool, but crazy.

    Captain Jacks! lol.

My only concern with E-bikes is the range at which it can push inexperienced riders further out into the backcountry.

I'm selling my house near Palmer Park! It is exactly one mile from my doorstep to the trailhead over by the horse stables.

id really like to stay west, like everyone else. that seems like its gonna make it super difficult. i havent even started talking to realtors or get pre-approved or anything. my lease is up at the end of june so im procrastinating that whole process.

rented a place near downtown for 3 years and it was awesome. right off shooks run let me ride to palmer, ute, and red rocks. granted it was a bit of a pedal to each, it was pretty much equal distance to each. plus the perks of night life downtown when it was open was cool. was cool when i was solo, but too small for 2 people.

im over in manitou now in kind of a janky house, but the views are insane.

i would be so stoked if i could get something in OCC or between OCC and downtown. idk. we'll see. ill get what i get

Yeah Alex but you are not a typical e-biker. You and I spend a ton of time in the woods and see a lot of riders, and in my region the vast majority of e-bikers wouldn't stand a chance on an analogue bike. As in, they're out of shape. It's decreasing that natural barrier to entry alot. I am not a purist but I also don't like encouraging participation in something just because it is now easier

More analogue people biking is great, more rich fat kids e-biking is not great.

We have similar taste in Colorado Springs geography. I almost got a house on Vermijo in OCC but we found out at the last minute it was a meth house back in the day and the owner tried to cover it up without doing the remediation work. Have you looked south of Cimmaron (24) near the RMFI hq? There is lots of potential in that area. My wallet doesn't allow me to live in all the swanky places so I try and get the up and coming neighborhoods lol.

id... id be tempted to get a meth house. blow the hvac, redo the walls, put new flooring in, for the right price, fuck it.

i would live south of 24 near RMFI if something pops up. i love riding red rocks so that would be perfect. could still commute to work on GoG too. its gonna be disappointing if all the things i hear are true, but hopefully knowing that going it will make it easier to accept
