Amen to the door handle covers!!

I have the wireless CPLAY2Air hooked into the port and stuck to the top of the storage area.

Its been a hot minute since I've posted here! Good to see the AG numbers are growing! I just finally added a KB Voodoo rack with a Desert Armor RTT. Glad I opted to go this route instead of tires and a lift, although that'll be the next part of the build.

I have no clue. Is that Auto Play? I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to be wireless at some point.

Sick build! This is exactly what I’m going for, what height is the kbvoodoo rack? Any complaints so far with the RTT?

Blackout package - planned: black bed logos, black wheel vinyls, front seat window tint, tires.
I'll be new to Apple CarPlay in the Tacoma. Love this device you have, but I usually plug my phone in anyway, just to get a charge boost when I'm driving.

Regardless, which port do you have to plug the phone into for CarPlay, and does it give an adequate charge?

Also, if using CarPlay, do you need to have your phone mounted as you do?

Sorry for all the questions. There's probably a post here somewhere on this very subject.

No problem with the questions - that's why we're here; to learn and share info.

The USB port on the dash is the data port. It will also charge your phone while it's connected. The two USBs in the center console box are power only.

Using the wireless CPLAY2Air, the phone can be anywhere in range of the bluetooth to work. It doesn't have to be mounted or wired. Some people have just hard-wired through the dash to the data port - either from the back using an adapted or to the front. Lots of choices there.

Thanks! It's a 10 inch rack, but with the tonneau cover mount, it's closer to 12 inches from the top of the bed. I'm really happy with the RTT thus far. Still learning a couple things here and there about it with setup and takedown. Otherwise, I can definitively say that it was a worthwhile purchase. Highly recommend if you're looking at a hardshell option.

Do you get any rubbing with those at the stock height? Any adjustments to be made? I love the look but my truck will be mostly on the pavement so I want to find a similar sized AT tire.

Blackout package - planned: black bed logos, black wheel vinyls, front seat window tint, tires.
As I impatiently wait for my 2021 Premium OR DCSB AG with blackout package to arrive, I come up with new questions every day. Hoping some can answer...more curiosity than anything.
    • All the specs I read say the grill has a chrome surround, but pictures I'm seeing show it black or dark gray. Which is it? Please say black, and be right! ;)
    • I see the decal on the bed in both red and silver - please tell me it's silver, and be right! ;)
    • I am interested in the optional alloy wheels available for the truck, but can't find a pic of them on a vehicle anywhere...do they exist? If anyone has them, please post a pic?
    • I see two engines listed for the Off Road - based on my specs above what am I getting, and what are the differences?

I know this is a lot of questions, and I should know the answer to some, but I did all my negotiating online, and just want some answers before I actually sign the deal.

    TIA!

I can answer 1 of the 4. The bed decals are definitely silver. Red and black comes on AG tundra only.

Only the SR5 and the Limited have the chrome front grill surrounds. The OR is black.

The sticker question was already answered.

The OR come standard with 16" alloy wheels. Optional is a "Bead-lock-style" wheel in gray or matt black.

There's only one 3.5 V6 on the OR. You can get it with 2WD Auto, 4x4 Auto, or 4x4 manual.

I think Toyota did the decals in silver to match the interior. The interior might be gray on the Tundra too, Im not sure. If the SR5 Trail Edition got decals the black and red would match the interior, which is black and red.

Thanks. Good news on the grill surround. I know what the optional wheels are. I just haven't seen them on a truck.

Also, the specs show two 3.5L engines for the OR - the Direct injection Atkinson and the DOHC. I don't know the difference, which is why I ask.
