Just now getting into this trailer thing, but here is mine. It's still a work in progress.

For me the biggest thing was fitting it in my garage, I had an 80" height limit for my garage door with the tent on top.

I'm looking for ideas on how to side the trailer. Wood is obviously the simplest option but I was thinking of something synthetic and rivet it into the stringers. a Somewhat waterproof box is my end goal.

Bringing up an old thread because I am about to embark on a build of my own. Question for people who have built: How are you running the electrical wiring for brakes/side markers/turn signals to keep them protected?

Are you running them under the frame and hoping you dont scrape them off?
Running them inside the frame and drilling holes in the frame to snake it through?
Adding conduit or tubing somewhere to run the wires on the exterior but keep them protected?
Simply running them on the interior of your trailer and drilling holes through the sides/bottoms to run them out to the lights?

I plan to put a 12v system in a tongue box and will run the wires from the box into the main compartment of the trailer (small gap) using conduit above the frame but my brake lights I havent figured out where to run them and dont really feel good about drilling holes in the frame and attempting to snake it.

I ran mine from the axle up to the frame and used plastic clips to hold the wires along the side of the frame to keep them mostly protected. There are a couple vulnerable points, but unless I'm driving through thick brush (which should rarely happen with proper trail etiquette), the wires aren't too prone to getting ripped out. I put connectors on the critical junctions, so if something pulls on the wire with enough force, it'll unplug instead of causing more serious damage.

M100. It's all pretty clapped out except the tent and the hitch. Those are legit. 20210605_100856.jpg 20210418_185235.jpg

Currently about mid build of the body. 2/4 sides tacked on, started working on doors yesterday. Trailer size is 4x8, extendable 3' tongue, rear tire swing out. going to put a lift-able rack on top and my RTT.

Will do. Our August delivery isn't going to happen. It's scheduled to arrive in port first week of September now and with prior commitments, I won't be picking it up until early October.

On the bright side, the weather should be a bit cooler for our trip home. Originally we were planning a route through southern CO/UT and then taking the ferry across Powell to spend some time in Capitol Reef but water level is low on Powell so the ferry isn't running so I'm working on a new route now.

Very cool. Mine's a '53. Do you have any details on how you have your spare mounted?

Jeep spare tire mount. My trailer has a small shelf on the back. It kind of sits on that and then drill through the back transom of the trailer.

Thanks! Having a spare hanging off the back would mess my balance up, but... I would really like to have a spare.

Ah, yeah they told me to expect delays with international shipping. Guess my trip will be colder than anticipated.
