VF tuning collaboration and BS

There is a boatload of those and I only have 6 gears. Which ones to update?

I can't find it (I went and searched his forum). And don't ever remember reading about how to adjust these. There are 17 of them.
Let me know if you figure it out.

 

All I remember that was said about them was on the “10” map was to adjust a certain area for when it would get stuck in 4th and wouldn’t upshift.

 

I believe 10 is the 4th going around 50mph map. I got rid of my bumpy road with upping areas in the map. At a specific speed. Not a lot of adjustments either a little goes a long way.
I don’t know what any other shift number does though. He explained on 10 that was it. And he won’t hold your hand the hole way, he gives good hints and it’s up to us to figure them out

 

Yea, I have already done the 10 map adjustment a while back. I guess I'll have to look at all 17 of them and do the same.

 

Yes I explained in general terms, if you are having issues with the transmission doing what you want you need to modify the torque value in the speed vs throttle area, up or down.

Up means more efficient, more likely to upshift
Down means less efficient more likely to downshift.

I just picked one table as an example I didn't specifically mean THAT table.


To make easier build yourself a base 3D torque map and set all of them the same. You will have to do this when our patch releases so might be good to get a head start

 

Is there any way to know which one is for which gear? I’m assuming there are 6 for drive, 6 for ECT, and maybe 5 for S mode??

 

So... on the forum I can ask questions about how to adjust my tune?

Do you have to have the pro tuner package?

 

Generalized questions are fine.
Specific tuning questions I don't answer.

If someone says:
What does this map control or do. We answer

If someone says:
Hey I want the car to do this at this RPM and this way what do I put in the map, we don't.

 

Should be a separate set of for upshift and downshift?
But I think there is separate upshift tables for S and CC judging by behavior

 

The point and purpose of our forum is to have information that people can share and participate in specifically for tuning toyotas with our software.
We are active there and eager to help point people in the right direction.

It's also a lot nicer having a forum where we can remove and clean up clutter / unrelated stuff.

I know that I have said this many times on different threads on this forum. It always gets buried, and that's why I try to limit my activity here.
If you want information. If you need something. Use our forum. That's the best way to ensure we hear you from this point. (when it comes to general things. Zendesk for anything customer related of course)

 

I guess I can take hours to look at them, then decide which one is the “best” one, then copy it to the other 16.
I’m heading to work to save a few lives at the hospital! If y’all get it figured out, let the rest of us know.

 

The different maps are used during specific purposes, some of which are not used at all.

How / when / where they are will be labeled in a future update to vF Tuner.

And before you and others get mad about not having it all 'right now' remember this software is not even 1 year old, and we are pushing things out literally lightning fast as it is for ANY company in this realm to build a tool like this.

and part of the reason they have not been labeled is because our patch *eliminates* all of them and makes 1 much larger TCU Torque map.

 

Quick question. The calculate torque value in those tables. Any ideas how can we calculate based on real torque value PID?
Say tbe speed is 75, throttle is 30° and that PID value is 310. . One of values from the table for the speed and the angle is 3665.75.

 

I would need to take a second look at the PIDs, but I'm pretty sure none are directly logging these, they are used in registers only.

just like there is no MAF Volt on older toyotas. It's all through registers only, no ram.

@Chadr7858, it appears you are using OBD Fusion, correct? I have this app too but can’t locate some of the pid's you have showing in your screenshot. Could you point me out to where you find the proper pids for displays for gear, coolant temp, engine oil temp, and trans temp, please? Thanks!
