There’s not a Metallic Gunmetal Grey thread on TW is there? If there is I suck at googling.

As far as I know, sky silver, mgm and cement were the only grey like colors available in17

I guess per Toyota site it’s “Magnetic grey metallic”. Guess I’ve been saying my color wrong all this time. Metallic gunmetal grey sounds cooler and I will continue to use that color. Haters can kick rocks.

Do you have gunmetal grey wheels. I think that's a thing

No. I’m not sure where I got the gunmetal from, considering my truck bio on this site is correct. I’m just an idiot I guess.

    Is it just me?

Seems like every fucking time I am ready to spend some money on something fun for my truck, some other shit pops up on the truck that I need to spend money on instead.

On the bright side, I think I found the mystery front end metal on metal squeak/clunk in my truck that showed up during my last wheeling trip to Utah...

6” crack in the core support above the radiator support bushings. That’s what I get for using my TRD Off-road off road.

    Fuck. :angrygirl:

Apparently it’s real common for all gens of Tacomas if you off-road a lot or do high speed desert stuff. Especially with a heavier than stock battery.

Holy crap! Good thing you caught it before it got worse.

I would say that it is just you, but you have more miles and wheel harder than I do. So, I'll just add core support cracking to my list of things to look out for in the future.

Is it and expensive part? Or just a lot of R&R? Or both?:goingcrazy:

I was about to ask what the standard repair for that was...

Just saw this the other day on another tacoma. Apparently not at all uncommon. What's your plan for a fix?

There are lots of guys on here that have had that problem unfortunately. It seems like most "fixes" are Band-Aids and only genuine fix I've seen is tubing the front end.

$87. But I bet it’s a huge fucking hassle to tear apart the front end to swap the core support.

I plan to see if a local guy will just weld it shut. Bandaid method. Swapping it seems futile. And I am not a fabricator so tubing the front is out of the question.
