Ya that’s right I forgot you decided to swap em over before hand.

Haha ya man I think they’d look pretty great but I’m sure I’d have to trim a bit not sure if I’m ready for that yet.

Welp, I guess my oil cap lives in the Gila now...

Anyone have a cap they want to part with? Or any idea for an immediate fix besides some ziplock bags and zip ties?

Haha well fuck that sucks. I’d just plug it with a shop rag and some tape for the time being. I’m not sure how hot it gets in that area of the engine but I’d be worried about the plastic melting and getting into the tube. I’m sure autozone or something similar has a replacement.

Edit - looks like the NAPA on San Mateo and Candelaria has one in stock $15

yeahh good point. thought of a rag-stuff but i can see chain links down in there (didnt realize toyota went back to a timing chain:thumbsup:, my 3.4L had a belt) so that idea scared me.

guess im headin to NAPA after work. thanks, Alex!

Main reason I went 255s was I did not need to trim. Only thing was to adjust the alignment forward as recommended by TC.

Well I think I probably found my mystery front end sort of metal on metal squeak clunk....

6” crack in the core support above my radiator bushings. That’s what I get for using my off-road truck off road.

    Fuck. :angrygirl:

I need to be looking for that kind of stuff on my truck; it won't hold an alignment. Time to get under it I guess. I need to lube the u-joints anyway.

Edit: your crack looks like it wouldn't affect alignment, prolly, right?

Crack is super annoying, but would not impact the alignment.
OEM alignment tabs don't really hold. I'm considering some beefy tabs or the LCA kit from marlin

Yeah apparently it’s quite common for all gens of Tacoma’s. So I’d look. I actually have a small crack in the other side too.

For now I drilled a hole at the end of the cracks to stop them from continuing. Then Ive got to try to find someone to weld it shut. Bandaid style fix.

 We've marked those points after each alignment; they're not moving. It gets toed-in, though within 50-100 miles after an alignment. Something is changing, moving.
I bang the heck out of the poor truck; it wouldn't surprise me to find cracks.
It only started doing this after I raised the truck to it's present height, though. A change in leverage, maybe.

I’m in Corrales. I may get his number from you. I have someone lined up to do it. But the timing might not work now.

    MEET UPDATE

So, it turns out @TacoIII is an idiot. He forgot about the meet and scheduled a ski trip next Thursday, and can't host. I know there has been some interest from a few others, and I'm still interested in getting together as well. If someone else can host, we can stick with the original time. Otherwise, I put together a google poll with some other options for a different day or a trail run if there is interest. Pick what works best, and we can figure something out by this weekend to give everyone some time to make arrangements.
