It was SO nice. At one point, premium fuel got to like $1.40/gal at a costco near my place

I honestly haven't thought much about it. I've actually already got a BAMF shock relocation in the garage but not sure if I'm going to run it yet. Until i get a daily, I wont be doing any major mods to the truck. Im with you as far as some extra welds to reinforce it

I like his kit better cause it gets the shock eye up higher. Plus is easy to adjust lower shock eye to the right position as needed instead of welding something and having to grind it off. I like the archive kit but its honestly overpriced in my opinion. I do like the ease of installation with @Arcticelf kit.

The shock hoop part can definitely be welded on, I've installed it both ways for folks here. The only thing to remember is that the upper shock bolt goes the opposite direction if you weld it on (unless you want to cut a hole in your bed to get access to the bolt head).

Is it because you cant unbolt the shock mount to get to the other side of the nut?

Is it possible to move the mount point up another half inch to inch? Where the red dot is? Or is there not enough room for shock?

the @ARCHIVE kit is very well designed. Especially as easy as it makes it to brace the shock towers to each other.

With the shock being as high as it is in the kit mentioned with no reinforcement, there is going to be a lot of pressure on the bolts holding the shock tower to the frame. Might want to look into that before the frame twists. Also, the clamp for the lower eye needs to be tacked to the axle at an absolute minimum.

As is, that shock cannot go up any further as the shock body would hit the plate.

I second the AG kit. You're gonna pay but having my hands on and seeing BAMF and others in person the AG is just a step above. You're welcome to look at mine when I come down there.

Im between the archive kit and just building it myself. Leaning towards building them myself using this as a guide and will run a brace between the two shock towers at the back of the bed.

The only thing I don't like about those tube style ones is they don't take full advantage of the height you can get the top of the shock. Maximizing bump travel without having to have a lot lower shock mounts on your axle.
